Blues
I want to transplant some zoanthid to a piece of live rock. I am wondering whether to plant them at the top or bottom of the rock I want them to cover. Can anyone tell me which direction they prefer to grow? NoobtoSalt
They will grow all over. typically though they will reach for the light so at the mid to bottom of the rock might be a good idea.
Emerald525
It's really not a matter of the rock it's a matter of the type of zoanthid or paly. Some like higher flow and higher light and others like lower light and lower flow. Typically the bigger the size the less flow and light they like. For example people eaters like less flow but with anything corals do adapt. Noob is right as most will eventually overtake the rock no matter where you put them.
