reefgeek84
I have heard that sailfin tangs love bubble algae...can this be confirmed? also I know there are two kinds of sailfin, well at least they are collected from two different area locations, so does that matter as far as eating bubble algae. Any help would be awesome....
nu2reef-n
I have an indo-pacific sailfin tang. I have no bubble algae in my tank, but I also have three emerald crabs which are known bubble algae eaters.

impur
Ryan at Advanced had 1 or 2 on Sunday. My red sea sailfin doesn't touch the bubble algae FWIW.
Michael7979
Doliatus rabbitfish are suppose to eat bubble algae also. But the smaller ones. Larger bubbles will be hit or miss.

andy
FWIW, there is a good article on bubble algae here. It seems the spores in the bubbles aren't fertile until the bubble is at least 1/3 grown so manual removal is the best way -- more details in the article. DChemist
I don't have experience with the sailfin tang- I haven't seen my rabbitfish touch the bubble algae (or the zoa's either).
