TRENT
I bought him a week and a half ago and the owner (LFS) told me to put him as high as possible with lots of flow???? I had him directly under a MH DE 250 with lots of flow. It's only one side that looks terrible. I have two Birdsnest that look great? Any ideas? Did I cook it? Thanks. impur
There is still flesh, and i see what looks like polyps on the bleached part. Put it lower in the tank, med flow and it should recover.
TRENT
Cool thanks, I placed it in the middle lower portion. Should I go lower? PS. what the hell is it?(scratch) Newbies....(laugh)
CCR
think about the trees on the coast. No branches on one side, the wind side. Same thing can happen to corals. Your blasting them to death! Should be fine and never put a new coral in high flow right under the light. They need a little time to re acclimate to your tank.
TRENT
Gotcha, I'm always learning new things about this hobby. Thanks! Do you know what the name of this guy is?
impur
Hard to tell until it gets a little more growth and color back.
rubberduck9
More often then not we blame our lighting for coral dyeing when it is actualy difficult to cause photoinhabition (to much light). IMO its usualy the change in params or change in flow that tick them off. Corals are sensative little suckers.

reefboy
yea I agree move to middle to lower section ware it still receives good light and flow and it should recover just fine as the lower area had polyp expansion then later slowly move up higher if your not getting the color you want but you may be surprised.
