acuraguy55
How do you sterilize inverts? The problem is that I bought inverts (starfish/mexican turbos) from a guy that has ich and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to make sure that it doesnt spread to my tank. I thought about freshwater dipping inverts but I think that might kill them. any thoughts????
ReeFit
The best method is abstaining. Otherwise its a roll of the dice.
jgf86123
acura, I'm pretty sure that inverts can't carry ich, it's a fish only disease.
stylaster
you could transfer the ich with the water from his tank to yours if you poured his water into your tank. Normally if your fish are healthy they won't get ich, and without a sick fish to host the ich will die out in a couple weeks
impur
QT tank is your best bet. I've gotten AEFW and monti eating nudis from just adding snails in the past. Now i only buy them from a trusted store.
ReeFit
yea if you know for certain ich is currently present in the tank with the inverts, its is possible for them to carry it to your new tank in or on them even though they are not affected by the parasite. In that case, QT would be the safest bet.
