Blues
Two strange things that are going on in my new tank: 1) Something is digging a hole under my rock. It's now about 2" wide and 1/2" tall 2) Some worm-like critters are making cast-tubes out of small pieces of gravel. It has a very fine flagella-type line that it whips around, sticks to a small rock, and pulls the rock in. I think it also has a snorkel-tube that I saw it put up for about 20 minutes. Any ideas what's going on? Brian
ReeFit
#1 is probably a pistol shrimp - google it #2 is normal and is a good thing to have in your tank.
Raamiah
Hey Brian its Brian. I think the worm creature is exactly that a worm. Probably a tube worm. The tube worms are nocturnal, so you should only see them in low light or at night. They eat detritus and other waste products. It would be helpful to get a picture so that we can see if it is that type of worm or another. I believe some are good and some are bad so it would be helpful to see to be able to ID it.
