  1. looks awesome. Do anemones eventually settle down and stick to one spot for a while or are they always roaming around?
  2. Looking good so far. Looks like a great tank.
  3. Love the setup with all the different clowns in the tank. What's the best way to get a hold of Dave about prices and buying some clowns?
  4. Well it's been over a year since I have been on these forums because I never got my tank up and running since I moved to Washington. We recently moved from one house rental to another and I actually pulled the tank out of the garage and put it in my office at work. I'm looking at gradually getting back into the hobby. I hope to be active here and hopefully having a tank up and running in the next few months! Thanks again to everyone for the suggestions. I ended up selling all the fish and coral which ended up being the best choice given the size of the place we moved into a year ago.
  5. Does anyone else have any suggestions for moving the tank? I know we can start over but my wife and I love our clowns and tang and corals and want to try to keep everything if we can. Does anyone else have suggestions or tips from their experience that can give us an idea of what we need to take into account for doing this? Thanks in advance for any advice!

    ID zoo/paly?

Well its been a few days and everything seems to be "normal". I still have a few aiptasia here and there. They blend in to the rocks a lot better than the majano's did. I am still going to keep a close eye out for both of those intruders and hope that I can keep them under control. I have also employed my wife as the spotter of aiptasia. She has better eyes than I do for seeing them. I still kill them but she can point out the ones that I missed.

Well I checked out RedSea's website and the Aiptasia X claims to kill majano anemone too. I tried it out and it seemed to work but I'll keep a close eye out for them. They didn't "die" or shrink up quite like the aiptasia did but hopefully it solved the issue. I'll keep you guys updated if you want. I didn't want to boil the rock because it has some zoos on it and purple dimple shrooms. Hopefully I am done with that stuff and the aiptasia for a while. thanks for the advice guys!

    ID zoo/paly?

I just searched the net for answers on how to take care of them and I read that you can use tweezers to "pop" them off since they have such sturdy feet. Has anyone heard of this or tried it? I think I am going to go pick up a pair of tweezers after work and try it out as a non-chemical solution and one that would yield "instant" results.

great. Does aiptasia X work on them? I just bought some to get rid of a few aiptasia. If so I'll use that stuff. Also would they be the reason my apha omega's have been disappearing? I thought it was the shrooms but maybe not.

I got this guy as a hitchhiker off a candy cane and some other coral I bought from a guy in San Diego where I live. Anyone have any idea what it is? He has spread all over my tank. The only other thing that spread that fast was my aiptasia...lol. Any help would be appreciated!
  11. Thanks! I will definitely do both.
  12. Thanks everyone. @CA2OR I'll look into possibly moving the fish and coral. I don't have a lot so it might not be much of a hassle but I would also have to convince my wife go along with the plan. @jayR I have been up a few times for interviews and for vacation. I am looking forward to living up here. Do you guys know any fish places near Olympia or any reefers in that area that are on this site??
  13. Hey Brian its Brian. I think the worm creature is exactly that a worm. Probably a tube worm. The tube worms are nocturnal, so you should only see them in low light or at night. They eat detritus and other waste products. It would be helpful to get a picture so that we can see if it is that type of worm or another. I believe some are good and some are bad so it would be helpful to see to be able to ID it.
  14. Hey all! I am moving from near San Diego to Olympia in the next two months and I thought I would get to know you all on here. I have had a reef tank for 8 months now and it has been a great journey and learning experience. I will be selling my livestock off before I go. I don't want to risk the stress on the fish and lose them so I'll just sell them and use the money to get some replacements when I get up to the Northwest. It was the San Diego society that sold me almost all my equipment cheap and allowed me into the hobby so I am looking forward to being a part of this community to learn and contribute. I hope to chat with you all more soon and maybe even meet up in the near future.
