Gabe
Almost out of the first tub of Kalk I bought for my diy reactor. What do you guys use? Is one brand better than another? Where to get bulk? Any experience with the pickling lime? Its not my goal to get the cheapest stuff out there, but I would like to buy a size that I don't need to replace every month. Thanks Gabe
coralreefer
Bulk Reef Supply--5 gallon bucket--pickling lime is the same thing...I mix up about 35 gallons at a time in a plastic can in garage and dose pump it under the house to drip into sump for top off... Rick
If you can get up this way or if someone is headed that way I can set you up. I bought a huge bag at the hardware store awhile back and it's gonna take me years to use it all.

Algae
I used to buy food grade through Bulk Foods.com. Used to be about $1.60 per pound. Now it closer to $2.00 lb. including shipping. Needed to buy about $80.00 at a time. BRS is lab grade and also a good deal.
Gabe
Thanks for the input guys, BRS looks like a good deal. Anybody have any experience with different quality, different brands? Is the brand name stuff any different than the bulk stuff? Just trying to learn more. Thanks Gabe
Algae
Often times the brand name will not list what grade it is! I feel pretty safe with lab or food grade.
