mesh wheel for skimmer

hi ive been using a mesh wheel for sometime but my mesh is always falling apart does anyone else use a mesh thats better or tough enough so i dont have to replace it every month or so.

I have the same mesh that Euro Reef and the other companies are using. I've had it on my 2 skimmer pumps now for a month and its stayed together nicely. You could have a piece if you want, PM me and we can talk.

do you think that mod would help on my coralife 220? im using the pump that came with, should i maybe upgrade to the gen-x 4100?

well im using the mod on my asm mini whihc flippin sucks and a rps 1000 which is ok but i wish it was a deltec or euro reef. depends isnt it a rio how many gph?

it works alot better but i dont know if it will work as well for a hang on its worth a try as long as you dont ruin the impeller.

It will work really good on a skimmer that uses a venturi to inject air into the pump and create bubbles. If it uses another type of injection it will not help you and will make things worse.

the pump thats on it uses a needle wheel now, so what could i use for mesh?

If it is a needle wheel pump then yes it would work, basically you would cut the needles off and attach the mesh to the top of the impeller in place of the needles. The mesh pulls a LOT more air and also chops the bubbles up very small so you get big improvements in skimming.
