ReefStar
Micro bubble is coming out of the my return pipe from my skimmer. It is traveling through my sump and back into my tank, making the tank cloudy.DOH! I tried using a filter sock, but it didn't help much. The sump does have a bubble trap. Skimmer is a Reef Octopus in sump with a 15x9 footprint. any suggestion is appreciated! thanks

grassi
Just give all the system some time to break in. It can takes 1 or 2 months. If you are still having micro bubbles by then it can be something you would like to check. Turn off the skimmer for the first month at least... there is no need to having it running. You need some nasty water to cycle the new tank.
ReefStar
Thanks Grassi. Never had this problem with my last 112g tank with a PM skimmer. I will give it a try.

ReeFit
microbubbles will come and go as a skimmer works harder. i find i get more microbubbles when i feed. you can also put a sock on the skimmers return to reduce them as well.
WAVES
Gate valve mod would probably help too, but I agree I think it just needs to break in better.
