C0lin
Hey, does anyone know if there are aftermarket fans for lights? Mine are a little too loud for my taste. It looks like there is room to even add more, since there are only two fans on the left side of my fixture. Thanks

bswe22
Aren't they just like computer fans? If so, take one to Fry's and match it up for size. I am sure they have one's that will be super quite. Bryan
batchelor
for those of us that are electronically challenged, do they sell power adapters for those?

The SilenX brand is what Nanotuners uses for the combo of quiet and efficiency. You will find a number of higher quality fans at sites like The Cooler Guys. C0lin
Thanks for the help. It looks like I'll have to splice into the power cord and attach the fans that way. I need to unplug the fixture when I do that, right? jk
USCG CWO
I run these in my hood and they are quiet, quiet, quiet. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/6283/fan-348/Cooler_Master_120_S12_120mm_Silent_Fan_-_4_Pack_R4-S2S-124K-GP.html?tl=g36c15s60 A four pack is $25.00. You need a "wall wart" (power supply) to splice into the fans. Make sure the warts are voltage compatible with the fans otherwise you will either overdrive or under drive the fans. In this case you need 12v wall warts. I use one per two fans. HTH Shane PS: They also sale these kicking fan grills for the outside of the hood you mount your fans too. http://www.frozencpu.com/cat/l2/g36/c221/list/p1/Fans-Fan_Grills.html
racefan
for those of us that are electronically challenged' date=' do they sell power adapters for those?[/quote'] If you want complete kits there's this option http://www.nanotuners.com/index.php?cPath=25&osCsid=9b7n1fstl80qr2dsk277vd22a0
jackaninny
I would add if you can get fans and a compatible variable speed controller you can adjust the speed down to just where you need it and reduce any extra noise they might produce. My rule of thumb is to use bigger (in mm) and slower (in RPM) fans and you will almost always move more air more quietly. Also remember it's about flow ACROSS at system not AIMING fan flow at the system.
undrtkr_00
Remember if you are cooling T5's, just cool the ends, not the middle of the bulb.
