FS: Tank Livestock, lights, and LR

Recommended Posts

So I regretfully and with great reluctance need to part with the hobby to free up some cash and cut down on some monthly expenses. I got into a car accident yesterday and the car is totaled! Depending on who the insurance company finds at fault, I don't know if I'll get any cash from insurance company to help offset the purchase of another car since our family needs two cars. I'm hoping some day to restart the hobby but for at least another year or two I won't have the funds to keep my set I can start the hobby again or at least have a freshwater tank(just won't be the same though).

I have for sale the following items. I'm hoping to get these prices, but if I'm out of line let me know and let's see if we can work something out, but please no low balling please since I really need to cash to pay for the another car and pay off some other outstanding bills that have been handing over my head but I've been putting off. I would really like to have everything sold by Friday of next week if possible.

Purple Tang(Small to medium in size I would say~3 or 4") $80

Yellow Tang(about same size as above) $20 epic1

6-line wrasse(about ~2"never had any problems with him at all. Doesn't bother any of my other fish) $15 kendaroo

Hippo Tang(Medium ~4" the perfect size in my opinion) $30 epic1

False Perc Clown(~1.5") $7

Reef lobster(Really cute with some pink and purple on it's shell perfectly reef safe and is ~3") $13 epic1

Clean up crew snails(probably ~50 Asterina snail and various other snails and conchs that I got from Garrett) $20 alterego

Chocolate brittle star. Great as part of your clean up crew and perfectly reef safe. I know some people put it in their sump to help clean up some detritus off the bottom. Good size. Asking $15

Yellow with green shade deep water acro(from Westside. About the size of the acros he is selling right now.) $25

Green with blue tip humulis- Gone this from cherry corals as a 1.5"-2" frag. The piece is a dark green right now but will have blue tips soon judging from the picture of the mother colony. Asking $13

Sun Coral- Nice sized colony. About the size of 1/3 of a baseball. Asking $25

~200lb of LR. I would say 3/4 of the rock is premo stuff and has coraline well established on it. Has mushrooms, coraline, tubeworms, etc and well established on the rock. The other 1/4 is of course base rock but still from an established tank since I bought some of it from a previous tear down. Aptasia free guaranteed!! Two of the rocks have a brown with pink nipple center colony and the other rock has what appears to be Dragon Eye Zoas or Nuclear green. The majority of the pieces range from large to medium size. There is a large flat L piece and a flat and wide piece, some cone shaped, and some regular round/squarish pieces. I'm asking for $2.50 for the base rock and $3.50 for the premo stuff or 15% off the entire price of the rocks if you buy all of it. diverdown

As for equipment, I will be selling the following:

72" PFO light setup 3-400MH and 2-VHO Actinic. Comes with working balasts and has 3 1 month old XM 20k bulbs. This is no lie and Tim at Westside can vouch for the age of the bulbs since I bought them from him. The bulbs themselves cost $300. I'm asking $500 for the setup. I believe these are magnetic balasts and are not HQI. mikep503

I know I'll have some more stuff to put up later but right now I'm just too depressed thinking about selling my setup(sad)(sad) and can't think of everything right now. Like I said, I'm open to offers but please no low ballers. If you want pictures, I can provide some but might take me a little time but I'll try to send them soon.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Can you sell the livestock and keep the tank running?

Maybe in a few months you can start it again....

It is always sad to hear somebody in our community that have to leave the hobby, even if for a little bit only :-(((

Since I'm still new at selling stuff, it's going to take me till the end of today at least to build a list and see who has what. Please be patient with me as I sort through the accident stuff, work, and making sure everybody gets what they want and in what order. I will try to contact everybody if possible and set up a time when I get things organized.

Thank you for your patience.

Wei dang that sucks!! At least you are all right. Hate to see you getting out of the hobby but stay in touch man!!!

Hit me up when you get back into the hobby, i'll have some frags to help get you jump started

Thanks Miles! I appreciate the offer! I've met some great people here on the board that were so helpful when I first started. I just hope in a year(my goal) or so after I've paid off some outstanding bills I've had hanging over my head and things are in a less tight of a situation that I can start up the hobby again. That's part of the reason why I'm keeping the tank, skimmer, sand, and pumps. Figure that the majority of that stuff can be reused and has no expiration date as opposed to LR, test kits, etc.

Everybody was fine. I was the only one in my car and the other driver was fine as well. It happend Saturday at 6AM over by Rogers Marina. We both walked away from it with no ambulance required. Just a tow for both cars.

Sorry guys about not getting an updated list out yet detailing who has what. I've been real busy at work for fiscal year end and dealing with the repercussions of the accident. I'm going to try to set aside some time this evening to put up an updated list. Thank you for your patience.
