zombie
Im new here with a newer tank. Weve got a 60 gallon 24x24x20 deep tank. One of my concerns is that I have a Tunze nano skimmer that isnt doing the job. What recommendations would you have for this size? The tank has been set up for a couple of months now with 50 lbs live rock and approx 40 lbs live sand, a damsel, some soft corals, & a small clean up crew. Any help would be appreciated
CCR
Welcome New Toad:) It doesn't sound like you have a big bio load. What problem are you having? levels? Pictures would help. Use photobucket.
finch6013
I agree. Sounds like the bio load is pretty small. I wouldn't expect much out of the skimmer. If the tank is looking good and the perams check out then dont worry about it.
R-3
So you are pretty much looking for a Hang-On-Back skimmer? What is your price range that you can spend on a new one. You could easily get $100+ for your used Tunze. Here are some nice new HOB skimmers that are available now. Heres one of the nicest available- Warner Marine - http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=WM-H2&Category_Code=Warner-skimmer There are also Octopus Hang ons that work pretty good to. Algae
If you have room a small sump will give you options. IMHO.
