Kevman
I have a bottle of Purple Up that has turned to brick at the bottom of the bottle. Does anyone know how to liquify it again? And is it still safe to use? Is it the calcium hardining at the bottom?(scratch) Please help(clap) Thanks
MarkBirkett
It's Hard You are going to shake the bottle until it melts into liquid. To get it started use a long flathead screwdriver or a chopstick and try to break up the solid material, then shake the crap out of it Good luck. reef165
Have ya been keeping it under the tank? Just thinking if it was warm, it may loosen up quicker. Maybe run it under some hot water for a couple min. But it may not help, from my understanding the Purple Up has small bits of Coraline in it and the liquid is basically a calcium solution so the Coraline may have settled and grew together. MarkBirkett
purple up If you have not been using it, not knowing that the bottom was hard then you will not add anything. If you were then a little RO water might help it not be so thick.

nwcoralfarm
Ha ha, that's funny. I would suggest some RO water as well and shake it for about an hour. Or just buy a new bottle, should be just fine to use though.
Gabe
I had the same happen, not shaking enough when I used it. I broke it up with a chop stick, and added some RO. Have been using for months now without any ill affects. Just shake enough till you hear the marble inside...
jgf86123
is purple up worth using? where would you pick this up?
andy
It's just finely ground up aragonite in water; at normal tank pH it can't go into solution. Randy Holmes-Farley thinks it's (mostly) snake oil, and I agree. Check out: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1407489.
