Mandinga
How quickly or slowly should I change the KH of my tank? Let's say my KH was 6, how many days/hours should it take me to raise my KH to 10?
coralreefer
IMHO, swings in KH single biggest reason for RTN...I would move very slowly to get it up to 10...at least 2 weeks...may be difficult to get it to work out that way but without knowing how long it has been that low, it is difficult to pick a time period... The longer you think it has been low, the longer you should take to correct... DrMerle
Ryan
There is no reason for you to raise it up to 10 dKH! I have had the best success with 8 dKH. What are you using to raise your alkalinity? How do you plan on keeping it there once you raise it up? Is your Cal/Mag in check? I would raise it up .5 dKH per day...
finch6013
this may be bad advice but I have raised it up 2dkh in about two hours with no ill efect to my sps. Months after all corals were still doing just fine.
