USCG CWO
So I am in the process of building another stand and canopy. This one is for Roger (rgrcrain). So I know during my last build I really didn't photo document that well so hopefully I well do better this time. So here are the first shots. [/img] [/img] Building my stand was extremely difficult without a real workshop so I have made some improvements to facilitate the process. Here are some shots. [/img] [/img] [/img] And finally my youngest has been bugging me to help her build a bird house. So while I had a break between glue drying we built a house for the state bird the Gold Finch. Here are some more pics. [/img] [/img] [/img] Shane

USCG CWO
Update Here are a few pics so you can can see how to build up the columns and how the canopy starts. [/img] [/img] Canopy [/img] This one will have two flip up doors. Here I am test fitting the one on the right and taking measurements for the front of the door. [/img] Prepping is the worst. It is hot, sweaty and just a pain, but it is essential for a nice finish. When did I get so fat? Jeez I need to start exercising. [/img] Here is an overall pic of where I am at. rgrcrain
You arent charging me for the labor so I cant really get too impatient. I think painting it is going to be the easiest option. I guess I better go ahead and order the fans.
USCG CWO
Almost Done So the stand and canopy are pretty much done. I need to finish the doors, tile the inside of the stand and cut the holes for the fans and it will be done. Then either painting or staining, whichever Roger decides. Here are the newest pics. Thanks for looking. [/img] [/img] [/img] Shane

reef165
What a shame, That would look so nice with a stain! Could do a collor stain. Ive done a bookshelf with a watered down grey and brushed it on and wiped it off. had the grey and could still see the beauty of the wood! rgrcrain
I haven't bought the paint yet, but since I have zero experience with either I figured paint would be more forgiving.
