thumpersalley
We went to the base of Marys Peak, found 6 of them easily. These can be kept communally. There are 6 different species in Oregon. We are going to Bend this Sunday & we will look for some others. Kim

reef165
Do you have any pic's of your adventures hunting them? I've found some really small fat ones in madras but nothing spectacular.
Cannedmulder
Why would you go hunting for these little guys? What do you do with them once you have them caught? I see them often at my parents place in Redmond
thumpersalley
I only take 1-2 depending on the species, if they are communal or not. Keep them in a large 10 gallon naturally set to the way they are accustomed to. If I get them from Marys Peak, I take some rocks, dirt & hides from where I took them. Same for desert species. They get crickets & mealworms, water. They are fun to watch, easy to keep. Since I work with ODFW & sometimes USDA/ODA (thats who regulates bugs in Oregon & the U.S) it was easy for me to find out about legalalities surrounding taking scorpions from the wild. As long as you are not taking them for resale use, you can "harvest" as many as you want, within reason of course. Talking to some of the professors from OSU, they are more than happy to help you find where they are at & give you as much info as you are needing.
