racefan
I have a Candy Cane(3 heads) that I want to move to a crevice in a rock.I'd love to shorten the stalk by about 3/8" or so.Would that harm it? I'm assuming not but I figured I'd check first. Mike
Cannedmulder
As long as you don't touch or harm the fleshy heads and only are dealing with the stalk you should be fine!
dsoz
+1. Stay away from any soft flesh that is growing down the skeleton. Other than that, if it does not have flesh growing on it go ahead and cut. You can use a pair of pliers (wire cutter part). I prefer to use a Dremel with a diamond cut off wheel because it is more precise. Using wire cutting pliers sometimes crushes the stalk, or will split it in a way you don't want. Cutting with the Dremel gives you exactly the cut you want. dsoz
reefboy
you can cut within a 1/4 inch of the actual head everything below the flesh is dead and safe I have even split heads accidentally and both sides healed.
