“Announcement of Changes”

It is with great regret that we must announce that Ryan (Krux), our current president and elected president for the next term, and Angie (Fenmere), our current vice-president and elected vp for the next term, have given their resignations to the remaining officers and board members. We thank them for all of their hard work with the club and wish them the best of luck on all of their future endeavors. Hopefully they will both stop in and say “hello” from time to time, as they will both be greatly missed.

Keith (Ahbrit) has also notified the board and officers that he will be stepping down from his temporary position as “Forum Administrator” and has decreed that Stacy (spayne), take his place. He has done a great service to the club by creating this wonderful site for us and we will forever have our gratitude for all of his hard work. He has agreed to stay on as a silent admin to ensure that Stacy is well-trained and ready to fully take over the responsibility in its entirety.

We are suffering from great losses, with these three individuals resigning from their positions, but we have vowed to keep their dream alive and ensure them, as well as all of our fellow club members, that PNWMAS will continue.

Jay (Chief) has been elected as interim president and Bob (Lowman) has been elected as interim vice-president. Mike (Michael7979) will continue with his role as “Vendor Relations” for the remaining term as well as the next years term that he was elected for. John (JManrow) and Roger (Mr S) are our current board members. Any questions and concerns that you may have can certainly be directed towards them.

We will be setting up elections threads for the positions of president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. A thread is already in existence for nominating board members, of which we need five. So if you are a club member, and intend to continue your membership through the next year, we encourage you to nominate yourself or others for any positions you are interested in. Nominees must accept their nomination before they are considered running for office. So don’t worry if you’re nominated and don’t want to take the position. You don’t have to accept it.

The requirement for becoming an officer or board member are as follows:

- You must be a paying member of the club.

- You cannot miss more than two monthly meetings in a year.

- You cannot miss more than two internet based board meetings in a year.

- You cannot be a sponsor.

Becoming an officer or board member is a challenging role to take on, but you will have the support system of nine other people. You will be donating your free time to club duties without any form of monetary compensation. We assure you, it is a rewarding task that you will take on as you help us with our fledgling club and make it grow into something great. If you can dedicate a couple hours a week to the club, pay your dues and make the designated amount of meetings we encourage you to consider joining our team! We work hard, but we also have a lot of fun in the process!

The nomination threads will open immediately and will remain open until Monday, June 19th. After that, the voting threads will open. You will have from that Monday until Sunday morning, June 25th, to vote for your choice. The announcements of who won the bids will be made at the monthly meeting at “Advanced Aquarium” in Salem. The results will be posted on the internet late that Sunday night.

If you have a family membership and more than one person wants to vote, please create another profile for our website. Then that person can vote and maybe take part in conversations on the website in the future! The new term begins on July 1st, so we feel that this is the fastest, as well as most efficient, way of handling these elections. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact any of the current board members or officers. We want to conduct this in as fair of a manner as possible, but also be sure that our members are in agreement with this plan of action.

Thank you for your continuing faith and support! We are hard at work in serving you and promise that some exciting events are in store for the club!
