Bevo5
I converted my 200 reef into a freshwater tank and started pumping straight from the tap - experiencing a crazy amount of diatom algae which I'm attributing to silicates in the water as they bloom right after a water change. I've never had that issue before, so I'm wondering if anybody knows if Portland tapwater is just really high in silicates? I really don't want to go back to RODI for my tank as I have to do 100g water changes a week and that's just a PITA! So also wondering what an alternative silicate removing plan might be? Thanks. cjmdh
I would just run the 3 filters. Carbon at the minimum.
