Popeye going on for over 3 weeks, looks to be getting worse

I think my triggerfish got popeye from bumping into my autofeeder plastic food moisture trap funnel that sticks into the water about half an inch. Either that or jumping and hitting eggcrate. Those are the only new things I have added a little before he developed it.

And images of his popeye...his left eye also looks be be swollen, but I'm not sure if that's how his eye is suppose to be. It's a sargassum trigger btw. Just today I noticed a little bubble forming below the eye. Is this really popeye? What should I do instead of just waiting it out? Also, his appetite is still okay.

I have diamox if you want to treat.

Thanks Kev. How do you use it?

I just had a fish with Popeye. I used Ruby Rally Reef, it is reef safe and works great this is the second time I have used it for diff things and always does a great job ...

Good Luck

Thanks, I'll look into it. How long did it take to work for you?

it's not from bumping into anything. if you can catch the fish use a syringe to relive the gas from it's eyes. or use the meds.

Catching the fish will be a pain, especially since the rock work is pretty permanent. He's also skiddish and hides a lot. That ruby reef thing sounds tempting if it's really reef safe. I don't think I'm confident to do that needle thing. Sounds scary(scary)

I have to make up new water now to prepare for the hospital tank just in case I have to remove him in order to treat. May take a while before I get it set up
