  1. Sup! Added a couple things -

    - Tunze Nano ATO w/ 1g reservoir

    - eshopps media basket

    - chemi-pure blue bag

    - pistol shrimp & CUC

    - zoas

Heading out of town but when I get back, adding some more coral and a goby/clown pair possibly. Might switch around some frags from my other tank. We’ll see - loving this nano though. Super easy.

  2. Here’s one of the USB cameras to give you an idea. Thinking of encasing it in clear epoxy resin, adding a magnet to the back - and then the raspberrypi should be simple - power, wifi, usb camera input setup as a IP camera server (can also store locally which I wanted). This way - you can push whatever link Apex Fusion accepts and input it into the actual app for ease of use.

But while it will be badass to have an internal view of one area of the tank, it won’t see as much as a top down view. We’ll see, low cost so can run a few versions.

  3. Sup! I was curious to see some other setups that people use for cameras to monitor their tanks. I travel frequently so with my apex + other automated equipment it’s nice to see that the task was performed via the app but I know a lot of us still like to visually get an eye on things going on in the tank.

I’ve been using a Ring camera placed in various spots around the room and in front of the tank - but recently zip-tied it to one of my AI Prime 16 lights to have a top down view also sending a notification right before feeding time when pumps/powerheads are off and water is still.

Idk if I love the view. It’s not perfect and I have some issues with the ring cameras in general so I may pop this into the side project list and get a usb camera, water proof it and setup a raspberrypi to stream the camera. At that point, could just plug the feed into the apex fusion app.

For phone pictures I have recently started using a free app called SILKYPIXAQUA with good results. I rarely break out the filter any more. These pics were taken with the app no filters

SILKYPIXAQUA did the trick! Check these shots out from my frag tank -

  5. Heater died!

Not sure what the deal is, fairly new heater but have tried everything. Looks like it went out middle of the night so temps dropped dramatically, I have a spare coming tomorrow (all other heaters are in tanks, this was the spare. I know I know, redundancy) but afraid it will get too cold and kill the live rock in the back.
