  1. Refactometer was out of calibration and I did a 30% water change and DT salinty dropped to 31ppm. I raised salinity back to 35ppm and my acan lords have both started having polyp bailout and my acan enchinata is receding. Is it worth trying to save the polyps that are bailing out they are still eating while unattached to their skeleton. And is this because I bottomed out my salinity?

  2. So a few weeks back my local petco had all livestock 50% off due to a incoming upgrade. I picked up a feather duster that had been there over a month looked great fully extended in the bag on the way home plop and drop things are great. About 3 days after I placed it in the tank it decided it wanted to attach to the rock and shed a piece of the tube it was opening waaaay farther than it was before. Well this is where the feather duster crossed the line I suppose about 2 days ago I come home from work with my female clown ripping it off the rock dragging it to the corner and laying the absolute smackdown on this poor thing. Its feathers are only about 1/4 now and I dont think its going to last much longer. I have no clue why she decided that it was clobbering time on the worm but she sure does not like it every once and awhile she darts over to the corner and smacks it with her tail.

  3. Well, I done goofed I had a pretty big nitrate spike awhile back, so I put in a golfball sized chaeto and things have been great since. My nitrates and phos floated down to the levels im used to 16ppm nitrate and .04 phos. Well I COMPLETELY neglected to trim the cheato and it grew to fill the entire acclimation box and then I noticed that it died back significantly over night I pulled it out and checked my nutrients and they were double 0 and low and behold I have suspected dinos now! Hurray! Just thought id share my flop! Never thought it would be so easy to bottom out nutrients without a skimmer.

  4. My local petco is remodeling their entire aquatics section. I got my clowns and firefish from them. Plus a really nice zoa colony fwiw the aquatics person there seems to actually care and asks good questions when inquiring about fish such as tank length whats your current salinity age of tank etc etc. They werent going to even let me buy a featherduster unless I could feed it!

  5. Theres a couple ways but they wouldnt be safe you could always split the rocks thats one way. Another way would be to take the rock with the brittles and place it onto or next to another piece of live rock I had luck using this method. My lfs had some live rock that was infested with brittle stars so I bought 2lbs of it and now I have brittle stars lol.

  6. Im curious what other people use and where you got it from ive been looking at amazon for a good pair of long forceps and a long pipette but havent been sold on anything yet. I dont like putting my hands in the water for fear of whats on them. I work in an industrial environment and have been worried about contamination of my dt.
