  1. I’m looking for a 24” t5/MH combination but the only thing I seem to find is from eBay and have read reports of them catching fire so would like some other options anyone knows of.

  2. I know who to reach out to when I need new lights 😂

I’ve been wanting to go back to t5s but the fixtures don’t pop up like they used to plus I don’t need a 4’ fixture on a 2’ tank

    I utilize the zeovit system.

It is complex to switch over to from an existing system but not if starting from scratch. It is very demanding in terms of consistent + frequent maintenance.

    Basic Items required:

    -Zeolites (rocks)

    -Zeobac (bacteria)

    -Zeostart (carbon)

    -A ton of activated carbon

    -Zeofood (aminos works)

The blue bottles are designed to handle all of it via manual input.

If you are into complete control and enjoy daily tinkering then I would suggest zeovit systems.

Don't do auto dosing as that can mess the zeovit guidelines. The only thing you could potentially dose is the ZeoStart. Everything else you would have to time perfectly if you'd like to go on vacation.

My take on it is that you are running a high input for an ultra low nutrient system because anything added is being consumed immediately. The dial in is intense.

I do enjoy daily tinkering.  This would be a new system so that’s good to hear about it being easier to start.
is there anyplace you recommend to start looking? I’ve been on the zeovit forum but it just seems like nonsense since I’m a visual person

  4. Does anyone local still use Zeovit system? How complex is it to run and use?

I’ve been looking intoit and just get lost in all of it. So anyone local who  uses it or has used it please dumb down everything needed to run it and start it.

i know a reactor is needed but where I’m lost is are you still using dosing pumps for calcium and alk or do the blue bottles handle all that? It’s just something I’m truly not familiar with and very interested in doing for my next build

  5. I would really love a invert/sps only tank.

loads of shrimp, snails and sps.

Maybe just maybe 1 mandarin goby if I can get the pod population to thrive.

    Why no fish?

I guess it’s more of a curiosity, I can always get clowns or some other form but there aren’t many fish that catch my eye that are suitable for a nano.

I love hawkish, coral beauty and mandarins but i feel nanos are too small for them

  7. Is it possible to run a successful long term tank with no fish and just sps with inverts?

I’d assume it is if you dosed and fed to account for the lack of fish poo its possible but is it sustainable? Anyone who is doing this please let me know how.

  8. As long as you keep water moving and temperature up they should be fine for a few days until you can source a new tank.
I also believe pet smart is having a sale on tanks right now so might be able to get a good deal on one

  9. Title says it all. Used about 6 months and been sitting collecting dust.  $65 obo pick up in Salem

    aqueon heater300w $10 ea

    koralia nano 565 $10

    aquatop automatic fish feeder $10

Random lot of fish parasite treatments, calcium carbonate, reef fusion, garlic power. $60 for it all.

    API saltwater test kit $10
