  1. From my understanding that is normal for clowns to get black spots. Mine had them over a year ago and now gone.

Good to know. They are only about you months old. And my first clown fish ever. So I'm just trying to keep them healthy. I talked to a clown expert and he said if they were sick they'd already be dead. And they are still acting very healthy. So crisis averted!

Hey everyone. I got a hospital tank for my clowns. I went to the store to pick up medicine and was surprised by the number of options. What medicine should I use? Here are my options

    Ich-x

    Prazipro

    Pimafix

    T.c. tetracycline

    Melafix

    General cure (API)

    Fungus cure (API)

Lice and Anchor worm by microbe lift

    Xtreme by microbe lift

    Lifeguard by instant ocean

My clowns have dark spots on them. Please let me know anything that will help me figure out which medicine to get. Thank you in advance!

  2. Where did you get you rocks?

I didn't get from one place. I got from multiple places. I got some rocks from pets a to z. And some from salt water obsessions. And I bought live sand from petco. I didn't get everything at once, so I have just accumulated over a month.

Awesome! Sergio made the post, but like I said I am new too. I would love a polyp or two of that. What is it called?

Well some of my frags have like 8 polyps on them so I could cut it in half and give you some. And if your frags have multiple polyps you could do the same. We could both get more variety without having to spend a bunch :)

  6. Pretty much anything like combined on a rock or just fraggs aswell

Well I am pretty new to reefing and trying to build my collection, I'd be willing to trade some frags for some of your zoas. I am in gresham.

  8. As the title says I am new to the hobby and went crazy buying stuff in Petco and didn't really get any professional opinion about my nano reef tank. Now it is over crowded and after 5weeks.

Good thing I found this thread and learning a lot!

I am on my second nano since I need to separate some fishes.

Where can I buy live rocks for decent price close to hillsboro? World of wet is at 4.99/lbs and someone told me that is on the expensive side.

Have you considered buying dead rock? I find that to be cheaper. I just use reef accelerator to help it turn to live rock. Also, it won't come with outside parasites that way. I'm new to reefing as well and I bought both live and dead rock and put it all in the same tank.

  9. I confess it is a super small tank at the moment-- a pico to be honest. Around 5 gallons. The reason that I set this one up despite having a 75 gallon sitting in my garage unused for the last 1.5 years is the fact that 1) it won't take too much time, 2) I can upgrade easily if needed 3) I won't lose too much sleep over the tank. I confess it is so hard not to want a much bigger tank though!

I have a 6 gallon tank. So mine is super tiny too. :)
