Bought this 48" light T5 but don't know what the wattage is.
I want to buy 4 t5's and not sure how much wattage each T5 should be.
Information that you'll probably need is:
Inhabitants:
softies (Kenya trees, Colts, Xenia, sinularia)
macro algae (various caulerpa, dragons breath, etc.)
Photosynthetic gorgonians
Tank is 18" tall.
The lights I found were 54w each. Is this too much?

My advice for the novice, is to get 4 2 liter bottles, make brine shrimp hatcheries, buy decapsulated brine eggs, phytoplankton, and Dans immunity mix from SeahorseSource.com , it had beta-gluten, fatty acids, and other things that benthic fry will need. Here is what I did. https://vimeo.com/179910026

And they will breed every two weeks. Try lowering the temp. They tend to stop when it gets colder as it would simulate winter.

Collect them with a net, 5 gallon bucket , air stone, phytoplankton and a light.

FWIW on the rock, personally with the risk of getting more than you want i.e. pests, aptasia, bubble, polyclads, and a host of other nasties, I'd not get live rock from any existing tank, tank tear down etc.
Just my opinion/experience
I wouldn't either. It took me one hydroid infestation to make me realize that dry rock is best after curing it. What are you going to house in the tank?
Btw it's a beautiful tank!!!

well..... It's meant to do that!!! I agree with the regulating of any wildlife. We should not be pulling anything out of the wild without regulating!!
Honestly, i think the efforts needs to be spent on breeding... and building reef farms for not only the hobby..but more so for re-populating the natural reefs that have been destroyed.
I agree, we should support Captive Bred fisheries and aquacultured coral farms. I am also in favor of artificial live rocks in order to protect the reefs!

Hey guys, I read and was told a heads up on possible aluminum leakage from CerMedia. Has anyone experienced this? If so, can a Poly Filter help rid that?
