  1. Bought this 48" light T5 but don't know what the wattage is. 233497919518adc8b546b9b4a2147121.jpg

I want to buy 4 t5's and not sure how much wattage each T5 should be.

Information that you'll probably need is:

    Inhabitants:

softies (Kenya trees, Colts, Xenia, sinularia)

macro algae (various caulerpa, dragons breath, etc.)

    Photosynthetic gorgonians

    Tank is 18" tall.

The lights I found were 54w each. Is this too much?

  2. FWIW on the rock, personally with the risk of getting more than you want i.e. pests, aptasia, bubble, polyclads, and a host of other nasties, I'd not get live rock from any existing tank, tank tear down etc.

    Just my opinion/experience

I wouldn't either. It took me one hydroid infestation to make me realize that dry rock is best after curing it. What are you going to house in the tank?

    Btw it's a beautiful tank!!!

  3. well..... It's meant to do that!!! I agree with the regulating of any wildlife. We should not be pulling anything out of the wild without regulating!!

Honestly, i think the efforts needs to be spent on breeding... and building reef farms for not only the hobby..but more so for re-populating the natural reefs that have been destroyed.

I agree, we should support Captive Bred fisheries and aquacultured coral farms. I am also in favor of artificial live rocks in order to protect the reefs!
