  4. Hey Cirenus,

I have too heard that chromis can be very mean, especially to clowns. As or your chromis, 3 might be a little too small of a school, i would go with maybe 6-10. Unless your tank has too much livestock, or any other schools that may bully the chromis gang?

make sure when you introduce more chromis, you try to get the same size, so a new leader can be chosen, and not have the larger ones kill the smaller.

hope this is of some help. best of luck

  5. hey Vicmacki, welcome! im also kind of new, but have already overloaded myself with info from this site. People here are super helpful, and have already helped save my livestock, and some cash monayyy!!!

Dont be afraid to pm people, ask for help, or what ever! read over the rules so you dont get people angry... haha

but over all, its good to have ya.

Let me know if theres anything i can help with.

  6. got a couple small pieces of kenya, should have some more from my other tank in a couple weeks probably. anybody in Vancouver WA, want them? in Oregon and really wants to make the drive? i commute to portland and can meet you somewhere sometime?

Message me and let me know!!!

keep on sharing the love guys! WooHoo!!!

  7. Hey guys. Ive got a bak pak skimmer, and i cant put it behind my acrylic tank because its too close up against the wall. so, i figured i'de find a way to use it from my refuge.

The pump that pushes water and air into the skimmer doesn't reach the water level (its a aqueon 10 or 15 gallon sump), so i had to jimmy-rig it to work.

What i did was, attack a piece of hose to the pump, and another into the intake, seems legit? just did it a couple of hours ago, and it seems to be working fine (water flow), this is the only skimmer on the tank, should i be worried? will this not work?

The hose is only used as an extension to reach the water level, nothing more. water flow is perfect, but will doing so dilute the skimmer's power? will it not pull the protein from the water?

The hose is only about 4 or 5 inches long, so i figured it wouldn't be too bad. has anyone had issues with something like this before? any good stories? bad ones?

Thank you all so much for the help.
