  1. No, currently I use a calcium buffer two part system (B-Ionic) along with Coralvite, AcroPower (for aminos)

and iodine. I also do weekly water changes (about 30/40 gallons in my 200 gallon tank). My skimmer is not

not to snuff on this system and I am looking at a larger more effective unit. Does any of this help to

    explain the sponge growth

    ??

  2. Are sponges OK to be in the tank? I have a lot of small ones growing on the rock in my tank.

They seem to not be decreasing but instead possibly growing. I am just not sure if this is good

    or bad.

    Thanks for advice!

  3. Bret,

Thanks for the great zoa's and all of the education. I really enjoyed getting to know you.

The zoa's are all doing great in my tank. I added the additives you suggested and hope that it

helps color up those that were a bit muted in color. You have the largest collection of zoa's

I have ever seen and lots of beautiful ones to choose from on the frags. Thanks again for your

    hospitality.

  4. I stopped in at Cuttles and Corals this morning when they opened at 10:00. It was really busy but I still came out with some nice stuff including a large blue Maxima clam that was only $75. I also got some of the flame torch he had on special. It was a zoo in there and hard to get help as they were so busy. I really enjoy going into that shop and the owner is a great guy who is always helpful to a new guy in the hobby.

  5. I am a UO graduate and always look to Oregon to win. Lately my motivation has changed since my oldest daughter moved to Alabama where they speak nothing except Roll Tide. Her new husband and extended family are all over Alabama. I love to send them UO wear and such that fit my granddaughter. I would love to see Oregon and Alabama finally get to play a championship game. I have no idea if Oregon could hang, but it would be a great game to watch and could it ever create some great smack talk! It always seems to me that Alabama has a light schedule. When you see them play they look pretty strong however. I hope this year this game comes to fruition!

  6.

Sadly,.... no not just diodes. The entire unit went into the water the day it first arrived. It was sitting on the side of the tank to see how great the LED's looked and my wife reached up to put some corals in place and knocked it in. It lights up on just the channel three moon lights (3 blue) but does not seems to pick up any other signals from the programming unit. Obviously not covered on the warranty :)

  7. I have two tanks I would like to get rid of. The first is a 75 gallon show tank - 48X13X27.5. It has a Red Sea protein skimmer (hang on style) with a couple of power heads and a Rena Filstar XP (running charcoal). It has a 48" light with white and acintic as well as a heater. $130. Really I would love to trade this for some nice corals for my new 200 gallon tank or possibly a large protein skimmer?

The second is an Oceanic 29 biocube. It is in good shape but needs a new acintic bulb. There is a crack on the top lid (not too bad). I need to get cash for this and have priced it low at $100. I am in the HazelDell area of Vancouver. Give me a call if interested in either - 360-921-5421 Steve

  8. Thanks for the anemones Matt,.... they are all open and looking happy. The two clown fish have already been fighting over who gets the 'best one'. After just one day each clown has selected an anemone at opposite ends of the tank. I really appreciate the sale and they have added color to my tank! The new LED lights are supposed to arrive tomorrow. Can't wait to see how they change things in the tank.

  9. Jadams,

Would you be interested in trading for a large (4") damsel who is fat and healthy? He has a black body with some fluorescent blue stripes and a yellow spot just ahead of his dorsal fin. He has been chasing some of my smaller fish and stressing them out. He eats like a horse when given the opportunity.

I am in HazelDell area of Vancouver if you have interest.

    Steve
