Mine all took some time to adjust to their current sleep regiment, but now wake up by 8am and go to bed at 8-8:30pm. I think as they get more comfortable, they will be out more. They become like clockwork once they're established in the tank. 

I have the same feelings about the cost of this thing. They're in an interesting spot as far as pricing goes with the only competition being existing test kits. I would definitely pay for the initial purchase if the disks were a bit cheaper. Maybe the disks will come in bulk packages that allow for cheaper long term use. Looks like a very well done Kickstarter though... I hope this makes it to the market soon and starts pushing other companies to keep up.

Sounds like you should be in good shape without adding to that. Perpendicular support beams are better, as the weight will distribute across more supports. Post some pics if you can.

New Life Spectrum Pellets and Thera+A. 1mm and 2mm for small and medium sized fish. I also feed Sustainable aquatics pellets occasionally for smaller wrasses and Hikari Seaweed Extreme for herbivores.

I think the results of the Tampa Bay Saltwater cured rock packages are pretty amazing. The full packages create a very natural and beautiful tank right off the bat. Great find and great photos! I've been keeping an eye out for a piebald Zebrasoma tang, but they don't come around often. Very cool that each one's markings are unique unto itself. They do change color a bit throughout their lives though. Thanks for sharing!

Looking good my friend colors are popping, by the way  do you use kalk for all your tanks? I had an indecent a couple years ago and have since stopped using it. It was human error so I have contemplated going back to it again from time to time.

I've stopped using Kalk. I liked that it was a cost effective way to keep my alk, ca and ph stable, until it started clogging my ATO pump and throwing off the dosages. After being shocked a few times with low alk tests, I realized I needed to make a change. I have a dosing pump I plan on setting up soon, but for now, I am dosing manually.

I've contemplated trying another salt, but have yet to find an option that makes more sense.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been focused on my larger tank build... Here's a proper shallow tank FTS. The tank has gone through some alk swings due to using kalk in my ATO (clogging pump) and low alk in the Kent salt I've been using causing swings during water changes. I had some red slide algae due to low alk that is now going away as I've gotten it back up and things stabilize.

Here's a shot of my Potter's Leopard as well. He's been in the tank since it was set up, but hasn't gotten any love in this thread.

Second that on Jesse's tank. Saw it the other night and his price is a steal! 

They're pretty fast and tricky to catch. I don't think you'll be able to catch it without moving rocks around. If it's not bothering anything why would you want to get rid of it? They're cool to watch when they do come out.

Yes, I've been using one recently. I introduced a smaller leopard wrasse into my tank of leopards and saw some aggression. It was multiple leopards bullying the newcomer. I went out and got a critter keeper ($5-$10) and drilled holes through it. I put some sand and a rock in it, so the new wrasse had a place to hide, as well as sleep at night. It gave me a chance to really target feed the new wrasse and get him comfortable to the tank and lighting schedule, meanwhile the other leopards got used to their new tank member. I tried releasing it after a week and still saw a little bit of aggression, so I put him back in for two more weeks. When I released him this time, there was a touch of territorial behavior, but the aggression was gone. He did end up going missing about 3 weeks later, but reappeared after 2.5 weeks in the sand. He's been coming out and eating happily ever since. He's definitely still at the bottom of the pecking order, but is no longer being bullied. I will absolutely use this method again if I run into aggression issues in the future. The main cautionary advice I would give is to make sure your acclimation box is large enough for the fish you're putting in it. Even the large ones offered in the hobby seem to only be for smaller species.

I saw this tang in person and it was tiny. I also think you'll be fine with it in your 38g as long as you're ready to either trade it in, or upgrade tank size as it grows. I know the guys at C&C wouldn't have recommended this fish for your 38g unless you were set on getting one and it seems like they at least gave you some cautionary wisdom on it outgrowing your tank. Unlike other posts in this thread, I've found the staff there to be very knowledgable and helpful in selecting proper livestock. Good luck with it!

I had been following this tank on Reef Central and was pretty shocked when I saw his post. Really sad. It was definitely one of the most remarkable and meticulously maintained systems out there. He said he was spending about $100k a year on maintenance alone. The tank was also at the point where corals were naturally spawning. I'm pretty sure he intends to rebuild, bigger and better.
