  1. I watched a saddleback have one so big it was swimming lop sided took three months or so but it just went away on its own and the fish is still happy and swimming around in the invert system . Cool fish I'm surprised no one has bought it .

  2. Thanks dsoz ill let u know . I been meaning to pm you about the rock but my build is going slow . I just siliconed a leak it had ill let it cure and give it another go . Other wise its going in the street !! Thanks for your offer though . It's not that they don't work . The one the skimmer came with was weak so I ran vinegar through it . Cheap pump ! So I had a octopus pump that had a cracked skimmer body and the pump was salvaged . I dug it out and that's when I cracked the adapter so after the glue settles ill try again . The skimmers only a month old and really just broke in . Before that all my tanks were skimmerless . Besides the stinky skimmate . Growth slowed colors faded . So I don't know what I'm freaking out about ..

  3. Well I have no idea what happened to it . Skimming like crazy having to dump the cup every two days . Then yesterday I opened my cabinet and its overflowing the cup with water . I decided to take it out and run vinegar . The impeller was clogged up . In the mean time I broke the male female fitting the hooks to the skimmer no biggie I'm glue master . Pump is running just weak . So I decided to join up that octopus pump that's a pin wheel pump switched the Venturi from the old pump . Something's funny . Because it doesn't seem like it has enough pressure to pull air through the Venturi . As much as I like to glue stuff I don't want to try gluing the whole skimmer body looking for a leak .. So maybe when you get back you can take a look at it or something . Im lost . I guess we will see how the sps does without a skimmer . So frustrating !!!

  4. My luck hasn't been to great this week my skimmer pump broke ! So I'm looking for a in sump skimmer . Something for like a 50 gallon . I have cash but also have some stuff to trade if it would help frags led panel if you need blue this panel would be great the whites are out for some reason . Lmk what you have !!

  5. I don't know much . But if it smells like vinegar and not chemicals . Your probably good . I got some at Fred Meyer for my 40b repair . Ill probably never buy the little tubes again very hard to work with . I repaired the back of my nano cube with the black looks slick plus only used a quarter of it if you make your way to Vancouver ever you can have it ..

  6. I tried three differnt ones two Hamilton 14k and a no name 14k for fun I have three brand new radiums I tried one of those as well . I don't know I guess I'll fire up the hqi and see if its just me . I was using radiums on the same ballast I know it under drives them but the did fire up but me reliable on a timer . Maybe the conflict wore it out

  7. I'm running an old school dual pfo ballast the magnetic one my question is yesterday I noticed it was dimmer than usual sounds like a lame question but has anybody seen this happen before they die . I have a hqi ballast I just wanted to run this till it went out that and if it ain't broke don't fix it . I also added a led panel to supplement some blue and my nem that went lt is back to having nice bulbs . I'm assuming more light .

  8. I had the same issue recently after a couple snails croaked . I just rinsed the cheato off with salt water siphoned all that I could out of the sump . Something's feeding it . But like any other macro or micro Algea removing it is removing what's feeding it the same reason why people harvest some of there macro . Jmo . I like to try and beat stuff the natural way before using algae removers its there for a reason . Take your water somewhere with a Hanna checked for po4 .

  9. It was my observation that feeding was making mine deflate and look in poor condition that was two months ago and I have never seen them deflate or look unhealthy they stay put and have actually got so large I'm planning on removing them and redoing my rock work like yours Matty . I like your tank lol . I say do what ever works for you . I do know one thing splitting isn't always a response to being well kept but an attempt to keep life going . Due to poor conditions . 14 ! Anyways I'm no scientist . I have heard lol that they haven't determined why they split poor or good water quality . The only reason I don't make sure mine gets fed is because my clownfish is straight obsessed with them both and will even bite my hand if I'm too close . Jmo !
