1. Just my 2 cents, but I finally got the courage to order 3 fish online through Live Aquaria as they were having a sale this week on a couple fish I was interested. I ordered them and they showed up on my doorstep well packed exactly when they wear supposed to. I had my wife put the bags in the water to slowly acclimate (I was still at work) Honestly I expected the worst because let's face it, this hobby is bit expensive to gamble in especially when you are buying fish sight unseen. I slowly opened up the bags wondering what I'd find and to my delight, I saw three of the healthiest looking fish I've seen in a long time. The colors were vivid and they immediately started to eat. Moral of the story- I don't know, but I'm very happy with my first and only purchase from live aquaria.

  2. Even though I've moved away from Portland I want to chime in and say that each of the stores listed above offers something unique to the picture. Cuttlefish has beautiful fish with a great concept offering fish that are healthy and eating pellet food - taking the gamble out of wild caught specimen, Garrett at PA has an excellent variety on hand at all times and is a great person to deal with, OIAB is completely overhauled into a great fish store with competitive pricing but hands down for me, the clear winner is Upscales. Travis and crew have gone out of their way to offer high quality corals and fish that complete any hobbyists needs. Travis is a great person to deal with and will always take time to explain how to best take care of your critters.

  3. Yah I know. My iPhone camera absolutely sucks but I've thought about doing that. I am moved to Indiana and am finding that I was spoiled with all the awesome fellow hobbyists I had close by in Portland. I have my 180 set up and cycling with live rock I've been hoarding. I've got plenty of space in the house we bought to get crazy into reef keeping, now all I need is more time!!!

  4. Ok everyone, I know it's not easy to fork out $850 bucks for lights on a whim, but I am going to make someone looking to upgrade their setup a sweet deal. Perhaps a couple people interested may want to piece this out but here goes:

Rather than me trying to pack this stuff, what if I packaged the entire light system with my previously listed 220 gallon tank setup which includes an acrylic tank with some scratches, canopy, stand sump, return pump and 300 gallon rated Reefstar Skimmer for $1200 total? I paid this for the lights alone! Any takers????

  5. These are almost new led lights and fantastic at that. I was going to keep for after my move but wouldn't mind the cash instead. There's another thread on here by Reefstar discussing the technical specs on these lights. I just bought the lights for 300 a pop new less than 6 months ago. I'll go $200 each if you buy all four, and $850 gets you all four lights, the aluminum rail kit and the controller. Screaming deal for someone trying to upgrade their current lights or just entering the world of Led.
