  1. Avoid aquacon like the plague.

You will not get what you think you're buying and trying to contact them after your payment has gone through will be near impossible.

For instance, they have "Marshall islands live rock" I myself wonder where they got it as it's been illegal to collect rock in the Marshall islands as of August 2008 (just an example of their deceptive practices)

If you do a search for aquacon at reefcentral you'll find nothing but horror stories

  2. I have 5 freshwater Clown Loaches that I'd like to find a new home for in a 75+ gallon tank.

These guys are old... 14-16 years each and 4-6ish inches long. Their color has faded some with age but they are all very healthy.

They are currently housed in a much too small for them 55g that really needs to come down as the seals are shot (very old tank) and my wife would like to do something different with the space.

(being these where fish I'm hoping it's ok to post here as opposed to the non-reef area)

  3. Thats hilarious-especially since they run copper, must be some mutated strain of ich-

or ........(nutty) sorry but I hit SWF at least once a week and guess I missed the outbreak-(scratch)

anyway its easier to answer who is not open anymore.

Westside, Rose City oh and the Nano Reef-but 2 of those stores were not open when you were around

I was kind of shocked myself... Even the few fish in the coral tanks had it

  4. So I've seen a few tanks with plating Monti on the back glass.

I really like the look so I tried it with a couple largish frags (3" and 5") and for the life of me couldn't get them to stick using the epoxy superglue combo.

Anyone know the trick to get these attached to the glass?

  5. I have a few goodies I'd like to move out

1st, a Hanna PO4 checker. Like new, including the instructions and regents it comes with. I used it for about 6 months bi-weekly

    $30.00 (Pending)

I also have a never used Salifert Nitrite Test Kit

    $10.00

    P5170107.jpg

CaribSea Sand, it's very fine and very white.

Three 20lb bags that I paid $30.00 each for (the sticker is still on them)

$15 each, $40.00 if you take all 3 at once

    P5170108.jpg

I also have a new (never mounted over a tank) Marineland T5-48 Deluxe Strip Light Fixture

You can read all the details here http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3733+13822+16771&pcatid=16771

4-position switch, 2 fans and comes with 4 Used bulbs (I'm happy to let you choose your bulbs from my selection... none more then 8 months old). It would make a great FOWLR or raceway/shallow frag tank lighting

$125 (retail with new bulbs is $270)

I'm in Bend until Thursday so nothing will be available until then for pick up

  6. Wow Noob! That surgical extension really paid off. I'm glad the Dr was able to help you with your... umm... little problem

For me pretty much no vertical growth since my last pic but I expect by next posting the plug will be fully encrusted. It seems to have put all it's growth energy into growing out

Sorry for the really bad pics this month. I seem to have a hard time taking these solo. I can't really even see the viewer while holding the ruler

  7. LOL, yes ~2 mm!! /palmface

He's a Lawnmower Blenny... Awesome personality, color shifting depending on background/mood, always at the front of the tank when people approach in the evening. Totally freaks out when he sees the food jar come out. Eats from my hand but nibbles at it when it's in there with no food. Best of all he constantly eats any surface and film algae he can find

  8. I've gotten ~2cm of growth in heigth and 2-3cm around the plug encrusted

I'm surprised it's done as well as it has. I made a noob mistake and lowered phosphates WAY too fast (.30 to zero in less than 24 hours) that caused some bleaching and RTN in many of my SPS... Things seem are getting better but this little guy didn't seem to be bothered at all

Entry measurement on 5-8 at 9-10cm

    Tonight

A pic that shows the encrusting better... and my overly fat blenny that thinks he's the star of the tank

  9. this was reported here earlier...total of two stores in the area...really aweful. thanks for the vid link' date=' though[/quote']

I must have missed the earlier report

I'm just appalled, I don't get how someone that obviously knows that they're killing all of these living beings could do something like that

Credit for the news vid goes to Austin, he posted the link on RC
