  1. My current sump has the skimmer sitting in about 6" of water. The adjustable return sets the water height in the mixing chamber and I have the set-up currently. My question is that If i put my skimmer in a 12" deep chamber would that change the way my skimmer is running. My pump would still be fully submerged, and my adjustable return would still be above the water line (i wouldnt have to change that, as it is running fine right now). So i am thinking that as long as the pump is always under water and the return is always above that the function of the skimmer will remain the same. Also the sponge just slides up and down the return line, I believe it is to be at the water line to prevent splash from the water returning to the chamber. Thank you all for the help.

  2. The return pipe is ajustable to select the water level in the skimmer, but it is still quite tall. As long as I keep the water level below the return pipe would I notice a difference in performance?

  3. Thanks for the info, hopefully some day I will put enough thought and money into start up to have this awesome of a setup. I dont think I have the room for a sump that size but I am going to hopefully be buildng a new sump soon. Looks great keep adding pictures as the tank grows!

  4. I have a glass 46 gallon bow with black trim, black stand and black hood. Moving and need this out of my garage. It holds water and has no scratches on the glass. It is not the prettiest setup, would work great for a sump or garage system, quarintine tank, you could even use it as a dog bathtub just help me get it out of my garage.

Looking for $50 or trade for some other equipment. Equipment needed: ATO, water storage barrel, power head, nice light for my sump, timer power strip. But I still enjoy the good ol' craigslist offers. So if you have something you are willing to trade let me know what you have.

I made my own concrete counter tops for my kitchen and bathroom, alot of work but endless options on how you want them to look. I like how mine turned out, If you have any questions I can try to point you in the right direction.

  7. $90 OBO. Tank, Stand, Hood. 46 gallon glass bowfront tank, (no leaks, no scratches). Black factory stand, black custom hood. Mediocre condition, fully function, some blemishes. Trades considered, would like this out of my garage and dont want to deal with craigslist.
