looking forward to going there soon

Planted tanks look so awesome if done well. Since I've gotten into reefs I've seen some well done planted tanks that look as good or better then the reef.
-
Now that is a challenging project. I'm excited to see how this build thread goes. Good luck, looking nice.

Not sure I would do a seahorse tank with that little of water volume, but two nemos and a hosted coral could look pretty tight yo.
-
Sweet, got any pics. Kinda wanna see what HOB combos like that look like.
-
Beautiful looking rock, and rock work.

Fish facilitate algea growth? Phosphates or how does that work Smann?

Ahhhh the 50g has a better footprint then my 40g breeder. Wish I would have seen that.
-
Ahhhh, I was hoping you were in corvallis still, I would have took the rock and sand ;(
-
Cooool, 50 gallons, what are the dimensions? Very cool to see what you do with it.
-
You have success with a yellow and blue hippo tang in a 40g breeder? Everyone I talked to told me no way. I'm interested , wow nice ...

I am glad that everyone enjoys the build threads but I must not have gotten my point across. I enjoy "build" threads also. they are great to read and follow along, and the pictures are great.
HERE WAS MY POINT
when it the title it says for example.
"250 gallon build thread"
one would assume that person is "building" the tank. when in fact all they are doing is putting store bought parts together.
I wish the title would read "250 Gallon assemble thread"
it would make it easier when looking for info on "building" a glass aquarium.
is there something I am missing.
if someone is building a tank from scratch should it say DIY in the title or something?
do you all get where I am coming from or do I stand alone?
I see what you are saying. I guess the word "build" has just been adopted by aquarist to mean the the purchase and assembling of store boughten good and some DIY to add.

Ya I'm still on the fence with this one. I know I wont be able to do the 400+ dollar things yet, but I'm ok with that for now. I just wont keep corals that demand lots of light. What I'm looking for still is used or new T5 lights that can be installed into a 6 inch tall canopy, 36". I would love to be able to afford a TEK light but not at the moment I think. Looking to hold budget at 200-300, and can add more later.

Looking for someone in the Corvallis/Albany area that has 40-70lbs of live rock.

Just a heads up, Petco is having the dollar per gallon sale on Sunday the 2nd.
They are stocked up on 40b and 20l, so you wont find a cheaper deal.

I was wondering why I had not heard any giddy comments from the peanut gallery as of late. Welcome back. Good stuff.

oops' date=' on the fish, I lost all my fish to Ich about a month ago most went while I was on vacation. I'm letting the tank go for now and will begin to restock in a few weeks. I've been doing some reading and this time I think I'll go with some smaller species, different varieties and try to keep the reef look more to scale[/quote']
Thats unfortunate. Ya I'm with you, smaller reef fish but more of them is sweet looking.

Build threads are my hope.

Welcome yo.

That is a lame apartment rule. If anything, it should require renters insurance on 30+ tanks.
