  1. Just looking to trade off some extra mushrooms and mushroom covered rocks for some less-occupied live rock. These things are easy to care for, and actually look pretty neat... I just have way too many of them, and other corals that I want to give room to. When I bought my tank originally, it was filled with them... Species only tank of just mushrooms. Kinda like alice n wonderland. Or a Phish concert
  2. Hi all, my tank's horribly underlight right now. 4x24w T5s in a ginormous 2ftx2ft fixture, and a 2x39w nova extreme for actinics. I have a corner tank, so it's a bit of a sin NOT to have MH running on it, as a single spot lighting would look great I mainly have lps and softies, and was thinking that a single 400w or a dual 250w would do the trick. I'm not too up on the Metal Halide movement, so any advice would be soaked up like a sponge. Or if anyone has any rigs that they are interested in selling, I'm looking. We have a baby girl coming in May, so I have about 4 months left to finish upgrading my tank before I have to leave it alone for a while. Included is a crappy iphone picture of it, water's a little cloudy because I had just rearranged some rockwork.
  3. I have a few frags left, I'd rather trade than sell it, but if someone really wants some I can sell one
  4. if you can cut one close to the base, you can glue an individual polyp to a rock and it will grow from there. These "eye of god" zoas grew from a single polyp. (3 there)
  5. I just fragged out my large purple w/ white polyps gorgonian to a bunch of 4-6 inch multi branched frags. Looking to trade for other corals, ricordia, leathers, softies, LPS? Local pickup/dropoff in Eugene/Springfield please
  6. I wouldn't mind a portland trip for a canopy.... Only problem is that we have our first baby on the way and I probably can't dump a bunch on it...
  7. 50+? My tank was all just red mushies when i bought it from CL back in April. I have a few rocks coated with them, anywhere from 5-30 mush on each rock... I would LOVE to lower the number of mushies in my tank, they are overcrowing my other specimens... and to maybe get some other corals in there. I'll post a pic of the mushies later I guess this thread is about who wants red mushrooms now...
  8. Down at liquid sunshine
  9. I know this is a long shot, but I would love to get a canopy up on my corner tank... hoping to get a MH setup inside eventually My stand is cherry, but for a canopy, I don't care I'd rather not have to have one custom made, i would imagine that it would cost an arm and a leg I can post dimensions if anyone bites
  10. lol, i just picked one up to work on my nano As soon as bessie's done, I can hand her over to you... she's going slow, and that hair algae is thick... and she poops alot
  11. Here's one of the gorgonian frags, along with my valentini puffer in the background. (King K'am'eh'am'eh'a) (crappy iphone pic)
  12. I tried to PM you, but your inbox is full, get back to me.
  13. grats man, I'm in the same boat my wife and I just found out that we're having a girl in May ^-stoked
  14. HP's are fine, costco carries HP and Acer I believe, and will get you the best price on a solid laptop. AND they have a member-only american express. (and a big rebate with each as well)
  15. So i have 2 little ocellaris clowns in my main tank, and they completely ignore my BTA I'm hoping to catch them and replace them with maroons, which have always been my favorite anyone in eugene have a maroonie or two they need to rehome? I'll pay or trade frags of course... I have currently some purple gorgonian frags 5-8", oodles of red mushrooms, and umm... 2 small ocellaris
  16. meh, no worries, it was cheap, and i have 3 backup actinics... besides, it got me to make a drfostersmith order, and i got all the goodies i've needed for a while... well, more goodies than i NEEDED... but...
  17. thanks! the little guy has been stuck in that shell since the day i got him :( I'd love to give him his own rock to perch on...
  18. So here's my little setup running next to my desk at work. I had a thread going on coralboard, that has the history of my desk tanks, but as no one uses that site... link to journey form 3gal cube to 5.5g sucket sump I drilled a 3/4" bulkhead into a little 5.5g all-glass nano, and sent everything down to a 7 gallon brewers bucket. A friend gave me a seaclone 100 that i have sticking out the top. Not pretty, but practical... I have a little RIO 800 as the return, and keep a 100w stealth heater in the bucket. I'd like to add more live rock into the bucket , as now it's just a resivoir. For livestock, i have a highfin goby and tiger pistol shrimp for cleaners i have a: skunk cleaner, pom pom crab, sexy shrimp, small brittle star, blue leg hermit, and a few nerites - and recently a sea hare For corals, some green palythoas, hairy mushrooms, kenya tree, green star polyps, various zoas, a purple gorgonian, and some candycane (wasn't doing well in my main tank @ home) - just noticed the two different candycane pieces had their tentacles out and had to take pics my little black sponge has taken fondly to one rock, and is sending chimneys everywhere Currently I've been fighting hair algae, as one weekend a few months ago i left the blinds open and the sunlight hit the tank for the afternoon. The algae started form there. (I close the blinds now) The corals loved it though... I picked up a sea hare last week to get munching on the algae, she seems to be plodding away happily (i took a few rocks home and had my valentini and sailfin pick it clean overnight - unfortunately, it would still come back eventually) The pics are *very* actinic at the moment, as I picked up a 18" current usa slimpaq from craigslist that had all actinics, (I have a 10000k bulb coming from drsfosterandsmith) To supplement the daylight, i have left my little 18w 50/50 CF coralife on the top... gotta get back to work, i'll post more later
  19. My green BTA just split on Saturday; when I left that morning around 11 to head up to PDX, it had moved into a hole in the rock, then when I got home at 10pm it was magically in both the original rock and a new one right next to it. All in one day, it wasn't acting funny the day before either.
