    Duncan Placement

Oh, I'm going to get me some plugs! I spoke w/ the LFS on Sunday, reputable place and a PNWMAS sponsor. He said it needs HIGH light, so I ended up gluing it to a piece of LR at the top of my tank. It still hasn't opened more than just a peek yet though. (scary) It was fragged on Thursday when I bought it, so I'm thinking it will need a week just to recover from the fragging. (?) Maybe when I get home tonight it will be happier. He also told me I should be doing a KH test. DOH! I haven't heard of this. Is this a test you do regularly? CA2OR - what a beautiful piece!!! newfisher: What a kind and selfless offer, but I think I will plough my way through this and hope for the best.

Thank you, good idea. I think that will solve my problem perfectly. No adverse affects from the PVC then?

    Duncan Placement

I just got a Duncan last night. (clap) No pics yet since it was not open last night and quite frankly I suck at taking tank pictures (working on that). I'm trying to figure out how to place it. I know where, med-high light, med flow. I've saved the perfect spot in my tank as I've been waiting for a while to get this. My question is: Can I place it in the sand? I fully intend to place it on the sand bed, but is in the sand ok? It is not on a plug, and am not sure if I can glue successfully as the angle it was fragged is a pretty big slant. That and I don't currently have any small live rock/rubble to glue it on to. The stem is very short, about a 1/2 inch or so. Any thoughts? I haven't written up my signature yet, but I have a 36 gallon bowfront w/ 10K flourecent lighting.
  4. Hooray! Thanks again for extending the deadline. I was trying to take a pic of my new duncan last night, and they were awful! Which has me concerned about taking pics of the GOC frag. Any tips on taking a decent pic so I can show how amazingly fast it will grow so I can claim my prize? LOL
  5. www.reefcorals.com I got my dendro and some galaxia from Scott. He's got a set up in his basement. Nice guy, very chatty. He has a lot of great stuff, and an awesome 500 gallon show tank. He has some great rics on his site, not sure what he has left.
  6. Well I just discovered this contest, 6 days late. I can't wait until next month!
  7. Looks like I missed it Bummer!! I just recently found out about this competition, and would love to gauge myself against others. I'm fairly new to this hobby, but the addiction level is through the roof!!!! (drooler) I'll keep my eye out, hopefully you will do one in December? Thanks.
