  1. Okay so now I have an ample amount of LR placed in the tank and just completed my first week of many while the water cycles. Im totally sold on the rock formation, but I did take some time to do it (believe it or not).

my hitch hikers that I have found to date are

1 emerald crab (just molted 2 days ago) and (2) snails...I think theyre turbo's but look pretty small to be sure yet.

water is looking good and Im starting to see some brown algea forming on the overflow. here is the pics I have so far.

If anyone has some ideas on stacking or arrangments I open to critique

    Enjoy.

  2. Hmmm my tank is only 18" do you think I should probaly get a 6 tube light so I can be pretty much flush to the tank width and 100% light is over the tank... you know Im asking if the width of this one is going to be overkill...for my tank. I dont want a ton of extra lighting all over the place. also does this have a splash guard. it seems all the new wave lights I looked at do not take a spash guard and will not protect the bulbs.

  3. I think I want this light from you..........does this require a ballast or does it come with one.....are there cooling fans, anyway Im very interested in this light. But know this Im new here and have very little experience with reef tanks and this would be my new light to replace a factory 2 bulb oceanic hood that came with my reef tank. will this light allow me to go forward to sps's and lps's or is this for just soft stuff like mushrroms and the like. if its a really good light that will help me on my journey than I'll take it...Im i portland and can meet you..

  4. Hello everyone, Im glad to have found this place. after a long time of reading and learning I finally took my existing oceanic tank (was freshwater) and made it what it was designed for "a reef tank". I have the standard overhead lights that came with it for now. As I only have about 5 pieces of living rock and a couple of damselfish to cycle it. Soon I will be on my way. I will share pictures as it comes around slowly. I am looking for a nice t5 5 to 6 bulb light set up so if someone knows of one please let me know. I pick up my skimmer today (a little early probably) from Cayes pets in portland. any way sorry about the book, but Im excited to be here and learn from everyone and share what little I know as well.

    thank you

    Jason
