hmm....i am going to get a 3D printer, then I dont need to worry about making a prototype:)

My new invented CA reactor has been tested on my 93G tank. It worked well and maintain the system chemicals very stable. however, my tank didn't have much SPS, so the reactor was not challenged enough for the maximum outputs. I would like to ask you help to test it out and push the limit of this new product.
I will provide the reactor, cylinder, regulator as well. As return, I need the tester provide the product comments and document the use experience. and challenge the reactor to find out the capability of the design.
last time, I post it here.

RBTA went to MJ's-Reef

a TLF reactor wet the carpet around the tank. The tank is drained for repair on the floor. all livestocks were returned back to Cuttlefishandcorals. However, when I drain the overflow, there is a small RBTA, about 3-4" diameter. it is in the garage now, hopefully, it will go through tonight... If anyone close to 97229 area, come by tomorrow evening and grab it. it is free.
In addition, the tank is up for sale for $600, including tank, stand, plumbing parts and sump. still have all equipment for this system, if anyone wants a package, we can talk.
93G Marineland rimless cube bought from Cuttlefishandcorals about a couple years ago. The tank has been used slightly over a year. the stand is professional made by my dad, i remember only the laminate used on the external surface is $100bucks. The sump is about 30G, all plumbing included. if anyone is interested, please PM.
the picture is not my tank, just to show the tank dimensions.

sounds like, I should shutdown the tank and get the carpet completely dried to avoid the potential mold issue.

A TLF reactor leaked the water out of the sump for a least a day, the water leaked out of the stand and wet the adjacent carpet. A heater/dryer was used to dry out the carpet around the tank stand, but not able to get under the stand. What should I do at this point? Do i have to move the stand to dry underneath and prevent the mold growth? This tank still in a young phase, only frags and fish in there, tearing it down is not a huge deal, but trying to find another way to avoid those work and recycling the tank.

do you want to try my new product "ich isolation box" to cure your ichy fish? No charge for it, just write a thorough beta test review. Actually, it is not a truely beta test. it has been proofed to cure the ich fish.

need your opinion....

No one interested? or I didn't present it well....

Mod, I posted it in the wrong board, please move it to General discussion
sorry about that. No the patent is not for sale!

Here is my new calcium reactor, it is quit different as the traditional design. i just had some time to set it up and tested it out. And got tons of question, as I never had a calcium reactor before.
forgive me not having enough time to write all detail up. Here is short description and my questions
The patent is submitted and it is quite simple. The CO2 and tank water with controlled speed, mixed in a long and small chamber to have acidic water, then this water will flow or diffuse to 1st chamber which is the main reaction chamber. The effluent will overflow to the 2nd chamber as the inlet water is added into the first chamber. The second chamber is used as the traditional 2nd chamber to consume more CO2 and improve the potency of the effluent. After the 2nd chamber, it overflows out to the sump water.
The pros:
1. No unstable pressure in the first chamber, that means the regulator doesn't have to adjust the diaphragm to compensate the downstream pressure oscillation. In another word, this design doesn't need a super expensive regulator to have a stable CO2 inlet. The 1st chamber is open to the air, no back pressure for the regulator.
2. small foot print, as every thing is inside the "box", no pumps, hoses, tubes going outside.
3. No clog issue, as it is overflow the water out, your inlet is your outlet exactly.
4. No noise issue as the CO2 will not trapped inside of the reactor.
5. easy to clean the reactor, just rinse the media in the tap water if too much debris accumulated
The cons:
1. waste some CO2, how much? i don't know yet.2. the output needs to be elevated above the sump water level.
Question:
1. Is Pro#1 true? I read that from RC but couldn't find the reference. If you can give me a confirmation, that will be cool or different opinion.
2. Talking about the bubble rate, how big the bubble is? Is there a standard?
3. from first week testing, is this data normal? or efficient enough?
test 1: 1 bubble/sec, output 1 drip/sec, 6.35ph in first chamber=300dkh
test 2: 2 bubble/sec, output 5ml/min, 6.6ph in first chamber=54.8dkh.
4. for test 2 result, how big the tank it can support? the reactor is 8" cube size. I put about 6lbs media in total for 1st and 2nd chamber
-
Garrett, thanks for your support on this beta test. As it is a prototype, i dont' really know how much water volume it will support. i would rather testing it on a 60-100G tank. Just to be safe.
In addition, it is the first test, I would get together with the tester to tweak and adjust the reactor, i want to find someone is closer to me.
But if you agree, i would like to put one in your store for 2nd beta testing after I improve this one based on the 1st beta testing results.

Nice tank! The new ca reactor has a 8x8 foot print . It seems too big for ur sump:(
if you don't have young kids and dog running around in the house, you can set it up outside of the stand. just need to elevate the reactor output port higher than the sump water level.

yeah, airgas has charged 5lb for $89

Danlu, how big is ur system? And how much sps in there ?

Reef junkie, it only requires the water level in the reactor higher than sump water level.

About 8"x8"

Jorge, who is Danlu? your tank probably too big, the prototype i made is most likely support up to 100G. i guess.... a lot of blanks need to be filled by the testing
