its a little giant 1200 gph it looks like 1/2 inch pvc to me maybe that is the problem i bought it and it was already plumbed its got 6 elbows i believe

i read that if you have your return plumbed with hard pvc and right angle pvc pieaces it makes your pump run hotter is this true because when i run my pump my water temp gets up into the 90s

ive got one power head in it and then the return has really good water movement aswell it shoots through about ten little holes 5 aimed left and 5 aimed right so with that would i still need power heads? thanks for the help so far

So i just set up my new to me 100 gal and i put in my crushed coral and then the water with salt that wasnt mixed up very well at all thinking that it would mix it self through the overflow slash return action it has been running for probably 8 hours now and its still full of what looks like salt particles so i was wondering if anyone has done this and how long it took before it was all mixed. im using red sea coral pro salt

yeah i figured it would mix up doesnt really matter to me i just want to get it going you know what i mean

reef frontiers is a wa based forum for like the trading for live rock or lookin for a little live sand there would deffinently be someone closer to you for that

It would be ok to do a base layer of crushed coral and then put sand on top right i just want to set up my new tank and not sure how long the group buy on sand is gonna take.
