1. Does $15 sound fair?? I have had him about 8 weeks.
2. Ok... So I do have a few pictures, becuase he did post it here for sale.... http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14964 As you can see the sump is huge as is the plumbing. I think he did say it supplied his skimmer, but it is in the sump so I dont think that could be! Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it! Beth
3. Rick I thought that was excessive too... but you should see the way oversized skimmer he has on there too. He said went that big for higher turn over rate to get more water through his skimmer. No it is not closed loop. The overflow on this tank is huge! Yes please... If you could hold that rock it would be great! And yes... my plan was to catch that darn Lawn Mower Blenny that is picking on my dragon Goby.... Hes gunna go! Any one interested??? THanks for the advice... I will be going out and getting a few rubbermaid tubs for this.... And a few trips to the LFS for salt water! Thanks again! Beth
4. Ok... so I think I am crazy... but I just bought a 120 gal tank!!! I will be picking it up next Saturday if it all goes as planned. Before then I need to buy a pump. He had a brand new "Dart" on it and would like to keep it.... Or I could pay him for it... but my thought is if I buy one I can put it on my credit card. Any ideas where I can get a nice pump that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg that pumps about 2800-3600 gal/hr. Soooo.... what I really need is some ideas/advice on how to make this switch. My biggest problem is this new 120 gal tank is going to go in the same spot my 55 gal is. My second problem is how in the world do I get 100 gal of saltwater home and in the tank? I plan on using most of my water from the 55 gal tank, along with the rock and sand in hopes there will be very little cycle. Can you please give me advice??? I don't really have to get the tank all set up next weekend, but it would be nice. Ok... I think that is all the questions I have for now... And I yes I will start a build thread as soon as I can. Thank you, you guys are great!
5. Sounds great Rick. (clap) Can you hold on to it for me. Maybe have some time this weekend to meet up with you. Will have time for sure next weekend! Thanks! Beth
6. Those are some nice looking mushrooms... how much would you let the first picture go for?? I like the blue one in the second pic but really dont need another kenya tree.... I have on that is taking over my tank, a good 8 inches wide by 12+ inches tall when the lights are on, dont know what to do with it but its TOO Big, and i have a second that was a hitch hiker on a rock that is getting growing well too! Guess they like my tank!! =) Anyhow... let me know what you would let it go for... Then I will have to try to figure out when to pick it up... With this whole H1N1 nightmare I am working about 50 hrs a week! YIKES!! Thanks Rick Beth
7. Just saw this... is the piece with the purple spotted mushroom gone??
8. Ohhhhh I am jealous.... How come my phones with verizon don't do that??? I have the Env 2, not the touch. Let me know how you like the android phone, I get an upgrade in March so will be drooling until then!
9. Wish I could swing the 120 gal oceanic... that is exactly what I want to move up to... just not the right time! Good Luck
10. NE PDX is easier and closer than gresham. Grassi would be fine! I will just make it a water day and hit up Seahorse at the same time! Thanks Rick!
11. I am in South East, sellwood area... really close to coral mofia... but also go to seahorse a lot so Grassi would be ok too.... How about you just tell me where to pick it up and I will!! =)

Dragon Goby???

I got this fish about 2 weeks ago, was told it was a dragon goby and it would be a sand sifting goby... which is why I bought it.... But i have not seen it sift the sand once yet! Wont eat frozen foods... just pecks at the rocks and glass... sometimes eats the nori I hang for the tangs. Any ideas??? Thanks! Beth
14. Im IN!!! IF there is still room!!! Let me know and I will paypal the money to you!
15. Thats cool... I think I will head over there this weekend and pick up a bottle... before this stuff chokes all my ricordias!!
16. Flow is from the pump and 1 power head, seems to be moving stuff around well. Had my water tested at lfs yesterday and they said everything was "fine". Last water change was when I got the tank 3 weeks ago, planning for another this weekend. I am using RO/DI water... but the person I bought it from was using distilled bottled water... figures I get the to deal with her mistakes... but I bought it any way! No skimmer, was told I really didn't need one on a nano... but have considered it, just have to find one! Any suggestions? Water change and ??? to treat the Cyano.... Thanks, Beth
17. I got some better pictures, you can see from the third picture how much the red stuff has grown since yesterdays picture. I also got a good picture of the bubbles on another rock in the tank. Thanks for any advice... I really appreciate it! Beth
18. Hi all.... I got a 29 gal biocube about 3-4 weeks ago, used with livestock. I now have some interesting algae growing, 3 kinds to be exact... the brown algae that comes on the sand that I understand is normal with a tank cycle. The other two I have no Idea what it is or how to get rid of it. The red stuff is now on 2 different rocks, the One I have pictured below I pulled out and scrubbed off with a toothbrush about a week ago and it is back worse than before. The brown stuff in the second picture came within the last few days, and seems to be taking over fairly quickly. For filtration I run chemi-pure and Epigen, this is what she had in it when I got it.... also of mention, she use to use just distilled drinking water to make her saltwater and when adding water to the tank. I have heard in the past this is not the best water to use. Any thoughts? ph is stable, no nitrates on last check yesterday and the corals in the tank are doing great, as are the fish... just ugly to look at! Thanks for any help, Beth
19. Update.... Well he is still alive... can't see well as the lights are off... but I did see him moving around! Wierd! Rick, calcium was fine yesterday, I will retest today to see what I get. And yes... I do have good oxygen exchange, lots of water movement at the surface... any other ideas??
20. I only have 1 peppermint...could it really be wanting to mate with a fire shrimp?? Dont think it really wants the butter!!! LOL And no... I have never seen any of my shrimp molt before
21. Ok... I find this weird.... My peppermint shrimp which I rarely see, has been out all day, not in his normal territory... and is now swimming all over frantically throughout the tank. I have never seen any of my shrimp near the surface of the water before. Is he getting ready to molt? Preparing for death??? I have been watching it for over an hour and it is very strange behavior. Water parameters fine, temp is perfect at 78 degrees, salinity fine... I have kept on on my iodine supplementing. Thanks for any info!
22. WOW... I got some of those when I bought the new to me 29 gal nano tank... I don't like them... was thinking of selling them! Or trading them for something I would like! Had no idea they were that much....
23. Give me a heads up if decide to come more north than salem.... I could really use a couple pieces of nice purple rock... how big are they?? got any 5 lb sizes??
