I thought that someone would have spoke up on this one way of the other sooner?? Huh wonder if sun isn't a coral that is fragged often?

There are as many opinions on acquisition and treatment as there are reef keepers. Everyone's experience flavors their position. Just look at the already placed posts.
I personally have used and tried every treatment out there. My blue hippo just recovered from a devastating outbreak...he didn't eat for 2 weeks and was blind for a week...at one point he was laying on his side puffing...
I believe your best options are UV sterilization to kill free floating stage, increased feeding variety and possibly garlic extract...
The ich cycle can make many, including myself believe that their new treatment did the trick...if they get better, they would have anyway without the treatment...IMHO
I also believe QT are helpful, but not with ich...too many cracks in the armour...

Be careful with garlic though! Garlic does a good job, but it can also slime coat your whole tank! Make sure that when/if you use it that you watch to make sure that everything isn't one big slime ball. Also slowly lowering salt level will help. It also works like garlic in adding a slime coat. So the fish won't be able to pick the ick back up. This is a slower process though!

Sweet cap!

I 5 fish in my 100 gallon.
watchmen gobie, red sea sailfin tang, coral beauty angel, maroon clown, and a dragon net. Only thing I would change would be my stand. I want to build my own. This one was ordered as a surprise from my wife. Very sweet of her, but not exactly what I wanted!

I've always looked at my tanks after the light's go out and there usually isnt any polyp extention' date=' once ya start feeding when light's out do they open up more?[/quote']
I haven't notice a big difference of polyp extension when feeding after lights out, but try it and you'll see the difference. Acan's eat like pigs after lights out!

No worries! Just to let you know she's in Oregon city. She's kinda busy but as soon as she can she will call.

Well now they are saying that his insurance my not cover the accident. Apparently there is a discretion between the guy and Progressive over whether or not he has current coverage. Both myself and the cop noticed that his insurance card was expired. Looks like I will be paying for all of it now.
Progressive sucks! I just switched from them because I fought with them on my accident! I wasn't at fault for my accident and her insurance was covering everything, but they(progressive) disputed my PIP. They were going to be reimbursed for everything they paid out. You have uninsured motorist insurance?

Are there 7 triggers in there?
I count 7 as well. Is it me or is that one tiny huma in there! Let me know when everything starts disappearing! lol I hope you have some well fed mild mannered triggers in your tank. I think you might be hitting you capacity for bio load. IMO
-
I wish I had the space for it! That is a sick tank! I have drooled over that tank many times.

I'm happy with the job my nassaruis do for me. I haven't vacuumed any of my sand since I got them about 1 1/2 ago. I think they are better than the sand sifting stars and don't both as much of your corals on the sand bed. IMO Plus I don't have any problems with my phosphates.

lol' date=' this is so true... Between our two little towns out here(Scappoose, St. Helens) We have had as many as 20 coffee shops at one time:eek:... Seattle may have made coffee big but Oregon has made it the giant it is!!! Almost all of them ring true to me... Is that sad?(scratch)[/quote']
Just this one! lol
If you've worn shorts, sandals and a parka at the same time, you live in Oregon .

Would like to come up tomorrow and look at the acans and blasto's.

I only use my credit card with paypal and have had to use it to cancel a few times. I have had good luck on RC, but think people price a little on the high side some times. I stay on the west coast when I deal with RC.

She's beautiful!!! Congats to you and mom!

I knew it was tied, they also say that you should ajust your levels according to your salinity levels. I believe it is 25ppm per .001 you go up from 1.025 salinity.
-
Just save some for me! That's where I was getting my sand from. I live right down the block from Clay so you could come over and we could see about the rock.
-
I keep my sg at 1.026 so I don't think I will have a problem. I think I will check out epsom salt and see how I do. I think I will switch my salt though. I'm going to do a little research and see what I come up with! If I got good info then recommended levels are between 1200-1300.

Sweet I was thinking that I wanted more zoos. I really want to get my hands on some dark blue zoos. I think people call them tubs/true blues. I have a very big wish list (a few have been marked off thanks to you) so most everything that you post I like to get a little. The watermelons I already have though.

I have read on Bulk Reef Supply's site that you 100 ppm in a day is max. I have only gone 75 to be safe.
I know alot of folks that use epson, I've read pros and cons- never any cons with the sulfate other than it costs more, there could be though.
it works for me.
Look at the tanks of the month on RC and see what their water params are-thats what I shoot for
Ha smart thinking! I never thought to look at the totm to see where they Are at!DOH! I paid $10 for my bottle and I'm about half way through it in 3 days.

I have run just a skimmer and a canister filter for years, but tomorrow will be moving over to a sump for all the reasons listed above!
