Is the top one messing with your zoas in the picture right next to them? If it's not I bet it's a favia. Other than that I couldn't tell you. The bottom one looks like an angry scoly to me.

I watched my best friend battle with this type of Leukemia. It is hard to have to watch what she's going to be going through and fight. On top of it all it would that much harder to have medical bills in the back of your head the whole time. You can count me in on a bracelet! If anyone would like to do a fundraiser of has any ideas on one. I have excess to a number of places to hold one. R-3 if you come up with something just let me know what I can do to help.

I didn't like the look of the Melenarus wrasse so I did some reading and asking my LFS. I came up with a 9 line wrasse, it's not as aggressive as the 6 line and gets the job done. Plus I like the colors of it, it looks more like some of the fairy wrasse's. IMO

I have a 100 gallon tank, what would it take to retro fit it? I didn't even think of that! I would like to put on 4 T5's.

Just blue legged cleaning crew hermits, nothing special. They are kinda big. Tomorrow I'm giving them to Clay for his FOWLR tank.

Right now I have a 48" DE 250w light with pc lighting and moon lights, hqi. I would like to have almost the same set up but instead of the pc I would like to move to T5's. Anyone wanting to switch lighting I would be willing to put a little cash in with the trade. I get great color and growth and have been really happy with my system. Just want to see how much having T5's on would effect my tank. I've been out of the game for awhile and I'm now back with a need to fix my tank up. I'm wanting to focus on sps mixed with lps. I have a liking for zoas and have a nice little collection going. Money is tight right now, all I have is a huge stack of doctor bills and on job. I could imagine some or most of you in this economy understand what I'm going through. Most of my days are inside my house and not being able to do much except watch tv, but mostly I watch my tank and think of all that I could be doing with it. Now I'm feeling a little better and wanting to take some of my idea and bring them to life! This is where I'm starting so let me know if you have other ideas that you think would work on my lighting! T5's seem to get good reviews and would be a good combo for the tank I have envisioned in my mind! (rock2)(rock2)(rock2)(rock2)(naughty)(naughty)(naughty)(clap)

Ok, so the other day I was walking past my tank and looked in only to see a hermit crab on the top of a birdnest. When I pulled him off it looks as if her had ate the tip off a little. Then I went on vacation for two days and when I came back the same BN was tore up! I still have a decent size BN, but I wonder if it was the hermit crab? I have never seen one eat sps before. Anyone else ever had this happen, it's a first for me. (scratch)

Oh, my sister lives over there so if you want some good local spots let me know! found some great diving site with a ship wreak that turned into a great little reef spot, plus many more snorkeling spots for you.

Ah man that sucks! Your pictures makes me want to get back over there. We go almost every year. Had to skip this year and it's killing me! I can't believe she has the cool shoulder about it, I would be so stoked on the trip that I couldn't stay mad. By the way 5 years is a great year to hit. Congrats!

I have a friend over in that area that does his own thing out of his house. He spends a few months over in Bali collecting corals. I will see if I can get a hold of him.

Huh, when I talked to a LFS about this one time they told me that people should "pop" the air bubbles. I have never had this problem when I had sea horses so never had to do it. Thank goodness I didn't I would have hurt the little guys and most likely killed them.

I saw talking to my friend that works at one of the phone skin shops in the mall. I guess this girl ran up to her and was stoked on getting the new Iphone and when to give it to her for a new skin on it, dropped the phone and it shaddered (sp?) all over the place. Guess that's what you get for buying an all glass phone! IMO not a good design. I got this info second hand so not sure how much of it was dramatized.

I have 22 gage sterile needles that would be better to use. They wouldn't make such a big hole and wouldn't introduce contaminates into the seahorse. Just let me know if you want them, I have a couple hundred so giving up a few wouldn't hurt. By the way just to clarify why I have them, I used to be a body piercer and used them to do non permanent piercing for shows we used to do. (whistle)

Ruthie, I think you don't need to apologize. All the great people on here are smart to understand that there are most important things in life than a tank.

I'm sorry about your accident, but I'm very happy you are feeling better. I hope that somehow your passion for this hobby was helping you.

I was really nice to see you at Clay's an see that you were doing great.

 

We are planning to drive down to California in August, so maybe we can stop by for a coffee and you can see Julian and Jamie (to whom I'm reading your post in my bad english while she's taking care of the little boy)

Thank you Alex. I would love to meet your little one! I spent a lot of time looking at my tank while I was down. The peace that my tank brings me did help me through this all. Tanks have been a passion of mine for a long time. In the time I was sick is when I decided to go back to school and soak up all the knowledge that I can about the ocean. My goal with the degree is to do reef conservation work. I want to protect what I love and I figure that having a job in the field that I love so much would be the greatest job in the world to me!
