  1. Great looking coral Trent! Coming into the thread a little late, but had to comment on that beauty. Also wondering when you might have a frag for sale or what else you might have in your frag tank? Let me know.

    Thanks

  2. Man you guys are great. Here is what I'm thinking. Adding to the clean up since I think my wrasse has eaten all my snails, or at least I can't find any when I looked. I'll try the black out and phosphate treatment, as well as a water change to try and pull out by hand what I can. If that doesn't work then I'll go with the Chemi-clean. I'm a little gun shy on the chemical thing after being a little too aggressive with an ick treatment and losing some corals. Thanks again!!!

  3. I've got a minor problem with this that doesn't seem to be going away. I've read that a phosephate treatment is useful as well as increasing water movement and decreasing feeding/waste/nitrates. If there is anything else please let me know. Thanks!

  4. Sorry to add another post, but I also wanted to make sure this lighting combo is being used wthout MHs? Clarifying this is most beneficial for LPS as well instead of SPS... right? I've not had any luck with SPS and my T-5s.

  5. Yes... Great thread. I've been wondering the same thing and have just been using the traditional bulbs. Growth has been great, but I'm hoping for a little more color. Also, there is a bit of color difference in the same coral near the top, a little bleached out, vs on on the bottom that is very bright and colorful with my current bulbs. Maybe using this combo will even out everything

  6. I agree. My son is also doing a project at school on the Midas. We got a couple of pictures before he did his vanishing act. I may take the suggestion on Garrett. Although, I just lost my Powder Blue Tang to ich today, so I'm not all that sure I want to buy any more fish if they keep dying or go MIA.

  7. I've had a Midas Blenny for about two months and all of a sudden he is gone? He was eating and had a couple of homes that he seemed to enjoy hanging out in. One of them being the Koralia 3 when it's off for an hour before feeding.(scary)

I've figured he is gone and I've searched all around the tank to see if he jumped out (no lid on my tank) with no success. But, call me crazy... I want to get another one. :D Though wanted some input on what could have caused his disappearing act. I have a hippo tang that I think is getting a little too big for his britches and if I can catch him, he's going to the LFS. Once the gental giant in the tank, now he thinks he owns the place and is a pig when it comes to eating.

    Thanks for the input.

  8. I've only had mine for a month and seems to like the Rods I put in and the DT's. The silverside I've given him usually seems to work best when the feeders are out. I have to do a little policing to keep the other fish away from stealing it though. It seems to take the silver fine in the afternoon when I've fed everything else. Shrinks up too much to give him something at night. That is what I'm doing, so it could be all wrong.

  9. I took the plundge and bought some Rod's Food. The LFS guy said I should watch and see what happens since things will really go after the food. My new brain coral opened up and I was able to feed him a small silver side too.(clap)

What I didn't expect to see, while my eyes were all of an inch away from the tank, was in the sand bed itself. I've noticed a couple of long yellow stringy things in the sand bed and one on my rock yesterday. Today, I realized that something is attached to those things and it went after some of the food. I don't know if they are aiptasia or something else. Any ideas???

I'll try and take a picture if people have no idea next time I feed to see if I can get some feedback.

    Thanks!

    Nick
