  1. Up for sale I have a natural finish pine hood that will fit any 48"X18" tank. It is about 8-9 inches deep. Would be great for a DIY VHO, T-5 or CF lighting or take the top off for a pendant type to keep the blue light from flooding your room. Not deep enough for MH, that is why I am selling it. This could easily be painted to work with your decor. I am thinking $20 OBO. Give me a call I need this gone. Corey 503-910-9535
  2. I'm trying to thin out my tank a little, so I was hoping to sell these. I do need to check out your new set-up though. And who knows, I would probably find something to trade for. Are you going to be around today?
  3. Still have these available.
  4. Thanks Roger. That BTA is on the move. I think I might be able to get him off the rock now. I will try tomorrow eve as I have things going on tonight. I'll give you a call if I get him.
  5. Lance: just let me know when you want to come by. DJ: Thanks, just need to make room in the tank and maybe make a little money for the next purchase.
  6. Changed listing, many frags still available.
  7. I added some better pics and new prices. Let me know if you have some trades.
  8. I have 3 of frags of People Eaters, 1 greenbay packer? zoos, and two candycane coral frags. I have a neon green finger leather a couple of kenya tree, some pompom xenia and silver xenia. I could also spare some GSP. $5ea on the frags Kenya tree and silver xenia are free. I would consider some trades as well. But I need to get rid of some of this stuff so I have room.
  9. That is an awesome tank. I saw it down at Jason's on Sunday. Love the depth on those. Can't wait to see it up and running.
  10. I would be interested in seeing one of these first hand. The link says they have the same spread as MH (one every two feet). They are saying these will replace 175w MH. I would reason this is due to the depth they will reach. My tank is 24" deep and I run 400w so these would not be a fit for me. I wonder if it is a limitation of the LED's as a whole or do they have the ability to get the penetration required for deeper tanks. On the financial side they claim these hold 70% of original light at 50,000hrs. By my calculations I would not have to buy bulbs for 11 years( at 12hrs a day). $370 for 11 years breaks down to about $34 a year. That is less than half the cost of most MH bulbs for those of us replacing bulbs on a yearly basis. Then you still have to factor in the fact that it uses 1/4 the electricity and you don't have to buy and replace expensive ballasts. If I can get one of these that will work in a deeper tank I may have to give them a try.
  11. I would highly suggest you cut back to a total of 12 hours lighting at the most. You may want to cut back to ten or even 8 until you get the algea problem solved. My t-5 actinics come on at 9am and shut off at 9pm. My MH's come on at 10am and go off at 8pm. So my actinics are on for one hour before my halides come and stay on for one hour after my halides go out with a total of 12 hours of lighting. If you are using frozen foods it is best to thaw them and dump off the excess moisture as it adds nutrients that will not be consumed by your fish but will help the algea to flourish. Doing these things to my tank has helped me. I hope this help you.
  12. I have a tiny nano (about 3 gallons) I need a light for. I am looking PC set-up that is nice looking as this will be in a office. Let me know what you have and how much you want.
