  1. Few pictures of the "Junk Tank" it's a 40B thats in the garage. I call it this because it houses all the odds and ends. Macro Algae, Corals that are not looking so good for one reason or another. Corals I just bought and acclimating them to my system, ect......

  2. Pump is way overkill, Dolphin diamond AmpMaster 4750. I will just have to throttle it back. It was too good a deal to pass up.

There is about 7 verticle feet from water line in the display to the high water line in the sump. Only about 18" horizontal.

With the pump that's "overkill" T it back into the sump if you can. I ended up making a manifold that T's off the main return that runs my CaRx,, Chiller, two reactors, a frag tank and have two ball valves for expansion. Just an idea. Good luck with the project. Be sure to take some pictures. ;)

  3. Here are a few pictures of how I did mine. Also Was recommended be another person to have a drain in your plumbing under the house. Something you could flush out every so often. :) hope this helps.

PS. Should say this is one of the best things I have done. Now all the mess and noise is in the garage.

  4. I did the same thing (remote sump). Why don't you make sure everything is done besides the drilling of the holes under the tank (floor). Meaning get the sump ready in the garage, run all the plumbing to the tank under the house and last drill two holes in the floor to the tank.

What return pump you running? Are you positive you have enought gravity that the water will not back-up and flood the house? Are you going with a larger sump?

  5. I'm also going thru the same thing. My HQI socket is shot on one side. I have went 3 days without light on one side with no ill effects. The socket is cheap ($10.00).

Corals will be fine for a few days without light.

  6. This is my First time setting a reactor. Have had it on line for a few days. Would like someone with experience to look over the info and make sure I'm doing it right.

  7. Call Pioneer Plastics in Albany at (541) 791-9231. They should be able to hook you up for almost no charge (relatively speaking), and can cut anything you want to size.

I had them build my 200gal tank and they did a spectacular job!

  10. Have not found any reviews on this skimmer so here is my attempt.

First off this thing is a Monster, well built. I hope it skim's as well as it is in the Brute can.

Too breaking-in the new skimmer. Placed it in a 44 gallon Brute trash can. Have been pouring old Skimmate in their. Hope this helps speed up the process? Have a Sump just for the skimmer on the way. will keep this updated.
