What are you using for lighting? I'd be tempted to use one of the new LED floodlight "bulbs" in a tank like that.

Is the EcoBAK a blue liquid?

No, it is a solid carbon source (and it is white).

Just emptied my skimmer cup this morning, and the skimmate was bright blue! Anyone ever had that? No apparent problems in the tank, I did start EcoBAK in the tank on Sunday, but it doesn't seem like that should have even kicked in yet.

Thanks to the mention of Pellet Grill Outlet, I went and checked their site out, and found out that they offer a restoration service. Just got my grill back, all rust-free and coated in high-temp powder coat. A bit pricey, but much cheaper than a new grill:

I have one, it is great, other than mine is starting to rust :-(. I've had it for about 4 years, I think the finish on them is different now (mine was just painted). It started rusting after the first year.

Their customer support wasn't overly helpful, sent me a free can of paint. But I'm pretty sure it would continue to rust anyway, and I haven't wanted to be without the grill long enough to repaint it.

Well, I put a bit of food on it, and it must have liked it because it kind of oozed up around it and ate it. I was worried that the clowns would try to take it away, but they didn't seem interested in the food it was consuming.

Anyways, rather than the usual platform wars can't we all just be glad we've got two very capable competitors keeping each other honest and innovating? And even better, be glad that neither of them is Microsoft? (laugh) Talk about irrelevant...

Yah just try when its feeders are extended. FWIW i don't feed mine' date=' they get what they can catch when i feed my fish. But in my QT tank i do feed them sometimes, i use tweezers and make sure each polyp gets a mysis. Takes some time, and i get sunburnt from my MH but the corals love it.[/quote']

 

So far I haven't seen it "extend" anything. What do the feeders look like?

I just got my first acan last week. It seems happy, but mine closes up at night. Is that normal? I'd like to try feeding it a bit, should I just do that in the daytime when it is open?

I had some of these. I also used a turkey baster to remove them, and have not seen any since. I guess I was lucky. The ones I had fluoresced under my moon lights, so that made them easy to spot. The look a lot like the berghia nudibranchs that are supposed to eat Aiptasia (maybe that is what I had instead of the zoa-eaters).

I've used a small butane torch, which would let you localize the heat a bit more than a heat gun (which would tend to heat the whole piece). I don't know if the open flame would be an issue in a school environment, though.

I think the ideal way is with a "strip heater", a thin heating element that you can set the sheet over, and heat a narrow (and straight) area. Perhaps that is something that you could build?

One alternative I've been pondering is if they really all died when Juliet set off the nuke. When she said "It worked", was she already dead, and having the same "I remember" moment as we see the characters have in LA? But that would imply a second level of sideways.

But perhaps her impending actual death allowed her a "vision", much as it appeared that Jack had in the bamboo grove.

My theory is that the time between the island and sideways-LA don't correlate. Given that time on the island is pretty random anyway, I think I can justify that. So it could be that the plane made it off the island OK, and they lived happily ever-after, and went sideways when they eventually died. Or maybe the plane took off, but never made it (easy to believe with the McGyver'ed window and hydraulic system, no matter how much Miles believes in duct tape).

 

Hurley and Ben took care of the island as long as they could (Hurley told been "you were a pretty good number 2 outside the church, so it appears they hung around new-Otherton for a while).

I was initially a little let down, but then I usually like things wrapped up in a nice neat package. But the more I think about it, I really like how it wrapped up.

I also had a feeling that Juliet would be Jack's ex in the flash-sideways (either her or Anna Lucia).

I was a bit surprised to see Boon and Shannon back, though I guess we did see Boon on the plane in the flash-sideways. The were fairly significant early on, but there has been little about them since.

I was hoping to see Mr. Eko again. They spent quite a bit of time on his backstory, so I was a little surprised he didn't show up somewhere.

Found this guy in my tank this morning. Haven't added anything new in over 6 months, so I was quite surprised I hadn't seen it before!

If you want white, both Home Depot and Lowes carry it. If you want another color, or want large quantities, try Multi-Craft.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been to The Wet Spot, and agree it is great. I was just hoping to find somewhere closer. Probably only going to get a couple of platys or something. But Petco/Petsmart don't even seem to be able to keep those healthy.

It seems that all of the freshwater stores in Vancouver are gone, except for the likes of Petco/Petsmart. My daughter would like a couple of new fish for her freshwater aquarium, are there any good freshwater shops in North or Northeast Portland?
