  1. I have a kit for a dart you could use and replace if you like...not sure it would fit the barracuda or not?? If it is under warranty call reeflo and they will send out a kit at no charge.

  2. When I had Joel build up my tank I bought everything thru him. I found because I was dropping a large sum of $$ with him, he was willing to work wtih me to get near online prices. PLUS, I had his excellent advice and help....he would always willing answer a question and still will! Advice and willingness to help is worth a lot to me.

I just hope everone who buys online does not go to a local shop for advice on the item...poor form!

  3. I have a hydroid issue in my tank. Naturally it is on base-rock that I would have to tear down the whole tank to clean off. Does anyone know of a good way to kill these buggars?

the only thing I can think of is to use a wire brush to scrub them off while siphoning the carnage out.

    Thoughts?

I'll buy anyone a beer that has a solution (if you are over 21).

    :)

    - oh, and I have not had much luck with kalk paste - way too messy and don't want to spike levels.

  4. I think I'll be in the market for a new Ca Reactor in the next month or so. What are you running and why do you like or dislike it?

I am currently running the schuran Picco - but not a huge fan of it as I could never get it to NOT leak air when I tried to recirc unused Co2.

I have limited space in my sump so I am really leaning towards the Korallin c1502 at this time.

  5. I got a few of these from Upscales - they called them the 'giraffe nassarius' if I recall. I have a few and they work the sandbed over great - except they will plow over any corals you have resting on the sandbed! Mine are very large.

  6. I use Brightwell products as well. Nothing but good experiences for me. I actually stopped dosing Mg once I switched from kent salt to gettanked. I use the brightwell zeo method and colors have improved.

  7. A few things:

First, I am very happy that the person had the strength to return those rings. It shows that that person did have some guilt and does have at least some moral values.

Second, I REALLY hope this does not disuade anyone from wanting to hold a meeting at their house. These things happen very infrequently with our club, so I hope this will not repeat in the future.

I feel pretty safe in saying that anyone whom does such a thing would not hold a membership with our club for very long, or at least I would petition for that.. Sorry, but I don't buy the whole "I found them on the carpet" story. Nope, no good there. even when I find things at work I have the common sense to return them to the receptionist for the righful owner to claim.

Again, I am very glad they were returned but very VERY dissapointed this happened in the first place.

Frank and Sherrie, please accept the Club's apology for the worry that was caused to you guys. Without people like you gracious enough to host events, this club would not be what it is today.

    happy endings are good.

    thanks all.

  8. Welcome aboard Jules.

I am in beaverton as well, so when you are ready for some corals let me know and I can get you started with some decent frags (no charge). I started out with a similar system as yours and I replaced the stock lighting with a 150w halide (sunpod). Worked great but heated things up a bit (a decent fan took care of that).

  9. I have both a ca and kalk reactor and my ph is anywhere from 7.75 to 8.15 Lower in the morning and after a day full of light it is higher. If you click on my stats below you will see a few PH spikes - I was testing and yanked my probe out and dropped it in some test water :)
