API kits are some of the most innacurate I have ever used. Elos and Salifert is what I use, but wanting to try the new Red Sea kits.

Do you have pictures of your Hydroids? I'm wondering if they are the same pests I have been fighting for a year now? I'll try and snap a few pictures to night and post them up. In all honesty it is these dang hydroids that have almost caused me to exit the hobby. They have taken over some of my corals and I can't seem to get rid of them. I HAVE contained them to mainly one side of my tank, but has taken a lot of work to keep them contained.

Kate, let me know if it works on hydroids - I have doen everything except tear my tank down trying to kill them. IF IT WORKS...I would love to rent the thing for a weekend!!

I was worried it was a spawning event. Well, my corals will be fed well. I will have a 15% water change available for the morning. The reactor is full of carbon also

My large RBTA keep spewing out a white milky looking substance..uhh..is this what i think it is? My tank is quite cloudy right now.

Be careful of the added heat to the water column.

Once I diagramed out and documented my RKE set up - and worked with them a bit they were quick to replace a bad pc-4 powerstrip. Heck, they even sent a bunch of extra bus cables at no charge so we could troubleshoot the problem. So far the customer service I have experienced has been great.

I run 2 seperate two little fishes 150's. One with zeo stones and one FULL of carbon from gettanked.

I have been both blessed and cursed. I have pulled out about 4 gorilla crabs so far (one more to go), but I also have a few porcelain crabs that came in as hitch hikers.

I have used BRS in the past with no issues. I run kalk topoff and a Ca reactor so the only thing I need to dose is Mg. The levels that SWF gave you look fine, perhaps the mg is a bit high but still acceptable in my opinion.

I run my mg at about 1400, Ca between 420-450 and Kh about 10

I'm thinking I want to try some NeoMag in my Ca reactor - does anyone know who in town has some on the shelf?
