  1. I do know someone who kept one alive for over a year! Slow acclimation is always the key with cold water species. I had some anemones years ago from the Oregon coast that lasted a loooong time before I finally traded them off.

  2. Thanks for hosting the meeting Roger. It was great to see the Tanks for teachers program in action. Maybe we should talk more teachers into hosting in the future so we can see what there tanks need and where the donations are going. I will be more involved in the program now that I see our donations are going to a good cause. (clap)

  3. Well maybe there is enough interest to have a swap meet still. Mr.S, are we paying for a place to set up a table. is it free. or donations? Are tables provided or do we need to bring some to sell are stuff on? I know more of you guys have good stuff lying around to sell :D

  4. I haven't seen it and I'll give $40.'

    I'm pretty confused by the measuremets 6' x 24" cylinder? 6 feet tall 2' diameter? 2' tall 6' diameter?

Honestly it's really hard to give you any idea on price without a lot more info. Does it come with a stand, canopy, lights, skimmer, reactor, sump, etc? Condition is everything. A pic would really help. Many people on this site that would probably be interested. I would guess it could go anywhere from $200 - $2,000

  5. Finch is right. It is cyano bacteria. There can be a few different causes and it is never real easy to remove. Usually high nitrates or PH levels being off are the cause. Do some searches on Cyano bacteria and you will find a lot of results. There are a few products on the market designed to get rid of the "red algae" but most of us don't have very good success with them.
