Just got my calcium reactor, and I need to get some media for it...

Any suggestions on what to get and what to stay away from? Also where is the best (and cheapest) place to buy it at? I have heard online is good, any specific websites?

Also how many bubbles per second should I run? Does it differ by tank size? Sorry, I really have not done my research on reactors, and with so much fluff on the internet I figured personal testimony is best!

I have a single floor ranch style house, and I am about to put my 72 bow in the living room and run the piping out directly out the wall and to the garage, where I will have my frag tank and sump/fuge. This will pretty much give me the best of both worlds, the cool garage to store all of the tank stuff, leaving just the tank itself in the living room! Hopefully the tank works out for you down there, and time will tell how my system will do! Anything to keep from having to spend that extra $ on the chiller I guess...

I have a pretty hearty cleanup crew, including plenty of snails/hermits, but a cleaner shrimp might just do the trick! Thanks, hopefully I will be getting one soon!

Garlic seems to clear up the spots quite well, but a good cleaner shrimp would be a nice addition!

2x T-5 6 bulb 36" tek-light (3 actinic, 3 white), with individual reflectors. 1 has been polished up a bit, and I painted it black, the other has some rust on the fixture (does not effect performance), and has not been painted/cleaned up. Looking to get $140 and $110 out of these, but make me an offer! I have attached pictures of these. (also have a few extra used bulbs I will throw in as well)

Well, here I am again in the dreaded EMERGENCY FORUM...today I noticed what seems to be Black Spot Disease (Black Ich). Everything I have read suggests the same old "freshwater dip, quarantine tank for 2-3 weeks etc etc." That is virtually impossible right now. Only my 2 tangs have come down with it (yellow tang, and sailfin tang) and getting them out of all my rock would be next to impossible. Is there any suggestions on what to do short of medicating the whole tank? (college + reef tank = not much money!!) I am going to give garlic a shot this evening, but has anyone else had success with anything (hopefully relatively cheap)?

Any help would be...well...helpful

I don't have any pictures of when they ran. I actually ran them at separate times (I had a single 250w over my old tank), so I also do not know what they would look like running together.

Looks more like a worm. Both of them (the worms) were gone today when I looked, could they have fallen off to reproduce in the sand or something?
