  1. For Nori, there is an Asian supermarket in Beaverton, off Beav-Hills Hwy. Its called Iwajimaya, I think, or at least something very similar, about a 1/2 mile East of 217. They sell all sorts of Nori, roasted and non in huge packs for very cheap. I think my last buy was 100 sheets for around 5.99. Also, good source for live seafood. I always buy a couple of live clams when I am there to let my puffer work on.

  2. For one of my businesses, I was always buying concrete and related products, so I have wholesale accounts at some concrete supply companies. I will call around and see who has the stuff and report back what I find - I think that someone in the area must sell it and I do know that many of the "wholesale to the trade" operations of that nature really don't care if non-business owners buy from them. Masons supply is one of the better ones and they will sell to anyone IME

  3. I have read on RC that you can use playground sand for a DSB, but have heard that it has to be a certain brand.

Does anyone know if a local HD carries the stuff, and what is the brand name I should look for?

If not at HD, then where can I get some locally?

    Thanks.

  4. Nice, great condition sump. Measures 30 x 10 x 10. Has three chambers as shown.

1st chamber is 6.5 inches wide

2nd chamber is 13.5 inches wide

3rd chamber is 10 inches wide

No leaks and minimal scrathing. Has spot for sponge filter. Three holes drilled in input area for multiple inputs.

Looking to get $100 out of it

    Thanks

  5. Not sure if we are talking about the remora or the EC from Aqua-C, but heres my opinion.

I had a Remora and it barely did anything other than move some water around. Would fill the cup every two weeks or so. I tried upgrading the pump to a Rio 2100 (692 gph vs. 295 for the MJ). It was a bit better, but still not skimming well.

I then scrapped it and hooked up a PM Bullet 2. Man that thing rocks. Fills my ext. waste collector every day or two. I have a 10" puffer, a blue hippo and two damsals. It pulls out dark coffee/tea colored skimmate.

Before getting the beckett, I was starting to grow a HA farm, and in the few months since, with little else changed, the HA has begun to recede ALOT.

In short, I am scared off of Aqua-C and would recommend a beckett to anyone. Becketts are not plug and play, but once dialed in they are awesome.
